What is acceptable with regards to symptoms?
I’ve had asthma for many years, and I’ve been through periods of remission, controlled asthma, severely uncontrolled asthma, and pretty much everything in between. After giving birth, and getting over two periods of uncontrolled and severely uncontrolled asthma, I’ve had around a year of extremely

Seretide and Addisons disease
I was diagnosed with Addisons in May 2023 and have been using inhaled steroids / seretide for chronic Asthma for 20+ years. My endocrine consultant told me to stop taking my seretide which I declined to do, as Asthma extremely well controlled, unless he refers me to Asthma team at hospital to manage

Is Baclofen part of asthma treatment?
I was taken off Montelukast by my Asthma specialist after more than twenty years. Baclofen was given but I had to stop taking it after two weeks because my cough didn't get better. My GP asked me to stop. I couldn't get in touch with my specialist. Should I restart the Baclofen?

Asthma not well controlled
I'm worried that my asthma is not well controlled, I'm on highest dose of Fostair which was switched from Flutiform earlier this year as my Asthma nurse believed I needed a higher dose of steroid to control my asthma as I frequently need Steroids. I also have Spiriva, Carbocisteine and Montelukast but

it’s not all asthma
I have only been officially asthmatic since 2017. I was diagnosed with cough variant asthma During that time I have had many courses of prednisolone and had a PPI added for acid reflux. This medication has been increased and my asthma medication added to and changed. In October I saw a locum GP as

Montelukast
My asthma is poorly controlled (5 courses of oral pred this year) and the asthma nurse has suggested I try Montelukast. Willing to try as I am concerned re the high steroid use so started them last night. However on reading the side effects I see that one of the most common is given as ' upper respiratory

neutrophilic asthma
anyone suffering from neutrophilic asthma? How was it diagnosed? I keep getting chest infections and needing loads of abx, wondering if this could be neutrophilic asthma. Ct found no bronchiectasis a year ago.

husband told to not take brown inhalor until “asthma test” despite it stopping wheeze?
hello! Asking on behalf of my husband as I’m really worried it’s not being taken seriously. I have asthma myself, I have always taken brown inhalor daily and never have to use blue unless ill. My husband had childhood asthma but after covid he woke up breathless and had a very bad night cough. After

Nocturnal asthma
Hi, I hope everyone is well. I'm not too sure if there's any point in me posting this but maybe more of a way to vent. Since turning 29-30, I've spent the last 7 years struggling with nocturnal asthma and flare ups that usually get their worst in July -august and grass pollen season. Also causing some

Haemophilus influenzae
I have had an unsuccessfully treated lung infection for a year, with HI(b) being one of the bacteria identified. I have taken five different antibiotics including cotrimoxazole, doxycycline and azithromycin (two of which I've taken two courses of). I have had a lung wash, CT scans, X-rays, I am prescribed

A long story short: I was in hospital for a

flare up in September for 12 days (when I was first diagnosed). I was on oxygen and not improving. They gave me a lot of saline and salbutamol nebs.

Gaining strength with Asthma
Hi Just wondering if anyone else here does strength training like lifting or calisthenics and has trouble with strength gains. I am convinced the reason why I struggle is because of decades of taking meds for asthma has an affect on strength gains???

Detergents
I am doing the clothes washing and emptying the dishwasher. As normal it is all triggering my asthma. Have people found dishwasher tablets and washing liquids which are better for your asthma.
