Erythropoietin injections. Immature cells.
On
Ruxolitinib
for a year but haematologist does not think the lowering hgb is due to Rux. His letter says he has ‘a few’ immature cells which they’ll keep a close eye on. I fear that means progression?? Possibility of AML? I think it depends on percentage of immature cells?

My fellow kiwi readers may be interested to hear that
ruxolitinib
is likely to be added to the list of funded drugs for MF in New Zealand later this year. My haematologist raised the idea of waiting and then seeing if six months of
ruxolitinib
treatment was beneficial.

TAMARIN STUDY now open across the UK in 13 hospitals
There are already some treatments that target cells that have these gene changes, including
Ruxolitinib
.
Ruxolitinib
inhibits the abnormal JAK signalling associated with changes to the JAK2 gene, and stops cancer cells from growing and dividing.

Molecular Improvement – Exercise, & Dietary Regime or Medication(?)
Ruxolitinib
, is an immune suppressant, and most likely is also a contributing factor to my anemia. Therefore, hard to understand how it is really helping me at all… (although it has definitely alleviated some of my more chronic symptoms).

Ruxolitinib
Had my first haemo appointment today since starting
Ruxolitinib
2 1/2 weeks ago. My bloods were all good and my platelets have moved down (albeit slowly) to 800. It is going in the right direction.

Enlarged liver
I was diagnosed with myelofibrosis 4 years ago and am on
Ruxolitinib
25 mg daily. Had it reduced some time ago to see if the dose was tied into the rising alt levels. When I was first diagnosed I had an enlarged spleen and liver but
Ruxolitinib
reduced them.

Basal cell skin cancer recurrence: anyone else had similar thing happen
I’ve got myelofibrosis and I’ve been on
ruxolitinib
and epo and apart from some weight gain and chest pains I’m doing OK. However I’d had basal cell skin cancer in the past ( living in Australia for 10 yrs) and its probably recurred.

Who leads the MPN research at the Royal Surrey in Guildford?
Soon I’ll reach the 18 month point of my MF diagnosis and the first year anniversary of my MF being treated with
ruxolitinib
. Hanging in there , making a few pots again and working on the 80% rule. This forum helps me a lot. Love to all.

Promising results for MF Trial - Pacritinib
“Conclusions and Relevance: In patients with myelofibrosis and thrombocytopenia, including those with prior anti-JAK therapy, pacritinib twice daily was more effective than BAT, including
ruxolitinib
, for reducing splenomegaly and symptoms.”

Ruxolitinib and high platelets
I came off Hydroxy 3 weeks ago and started on
Ruxolitinib
since when my platelet counts have kept going up - now 680. I wondered if anyone else has had this experience and how long it takes to settle down. I am on 30mg per day. It always helps to hear how others are coping! Thank you.

Ruxolitinib
Have been on 30grms of
Ruxolitinib
now for nearly 6mths and thankfully I have never felt so well. No itching which was severe and bloods are great. Brilliant consultant who has really looked after me and worked hard to get the drug for me.
