VERY SCARED
I have today received a copy of a letter sent by Thoracic consultant to my Rheumatologist and Prof Denton, in which she says she suspects I may have something called "PULMONARY VENO-OCCLUSIVE DISEASE" and silly me, looked it up, now terrified. The letter also sates that my FEV1 and FVC are 'well preserved

READING BREATHING TESTS
Hi, a spirometer is a device one puts on the finger to determine oxygen content of blood and pulse rate. It is small and you can order it on Amazon. The top number is the oxygen content of your blood which should be above 90. In healthy people it's between 90 and 95, If your O2 (oxygen) levels go down

New lung issues.
I finally snapped and pressed my doctor to run some tests. You guys know I have been posting for ages on here about how I feel like a 91 year old man. My doctor sent me for a sleep study just to shut me up. I told the sleep doctor about all of my breathing issues so he sent me for a pulmonary function

How high is too high for HR
I am new to the AF world, & have been taking Pradaxa for about two weeks with no awful side effects so far. I have taken Verapamil for many years for PVCs (which maybe was actually AF). About a month ago I had palpitations lasting about 20 hours. My GP did an ECG & diagnosed AF & sent me to an EP.

Thyroid cancer
So I got my results yesterday following my thyroid op. I had half of it removed and it turns out it was cancer and it affected at least one lymph node. Now I've to wait to see what they are gonna do. Operate again (yuck!), radioactive iodine or do nothing. I'm fed up. Seems to be one thing after another

In doubt
First of all. Sorry about the long post. I'm a bit confused about what's going on with my health here. First a bit of background info. I had a cold early in the fall, and was never able to shake the cough. Went to the dr after having been coughing every single day for over 6 months. Dr prescribed me

Stress and IST,pacs and pvcs.
I have been under a lot more stress then usual this week, family issues. I am on atenolol which has always worked well for me up until this week. I seem to be having more episodes of ist, pvcs and pacs then I normally do. Even if you are taking your medication regularly can increase chronic stress make

Lung function
Evening all ...... After a recent visit to my consultant my spirometory results had a fev1 of 70% despite being on a daily maintenance of 20mg pred I assume these results would be far worse if taken without oral steroids ? I've had a diagnoses of bronchiectasis and what my consultant is calling refractory

We have become doctor's by circumstance.
As a suffer of anxiety and my constant battle with pvc's pac's and nsvt. I myself started studying medical scripture from the time I was 14 years of age. I started to read about the heart and brain and the central nervous system the more my symptoms become apparent. The more I started to study" why "

Waking up with ectopics
Hi everyone. So unfortunately I've been having quite a bit of ectopic activity today. It was quite different this time because I awoke with the ectopic beats, whereas normally they don't come on until much later in the day. Still having them now (quite sporadic) and I'very noticed that I'm having bigemyny
