Hi everyone, hope this note finds you well with economy reoppening and restrictions somehow at ease. I wish GP and respiratory nurses had done my review sooner but it is my turn to address concerns to them being such an overdue with spirometry test as an example. Could anyone kindly help please with

When to take Questran or Colestid powder
I am taking one sachet of Questran or Colestid powder (containing colestyramine or colestipol hydrochloride respectively) per day to control suspected bile acid malabsorption (I have a cooperative doctor - but I haven't been tested for BAM) and therefore IBS D - and with some success. My question is,

Call asthma doctor? She doesn’t help much. Long term prednisone.
It seems like the fall often bothers my asthma. I was hospitalized in fall 2019 for 6 days for severe asthma exacerbation. Then COVID started. I’ve been on oral prednisone since fall 2019. I’m on daily 25 mg. My doctor is trying to lower the pred. She says it’s not doing anything now my body is just

Early days. What might have caused my tinnitus? A Salbutamol inhaler, a wisdom tooth extraction?
I'm 65, male, live on my own. I have several ongoing health conditions. In early June I had a wisdom tooth extracted, the lower left hand side. The next day my GP gave me a Salbutamol inhaler to help with my newest health problem - which we think is moderate COPD. The tooth extraction itself went

Adrenaline during asthma attacks
Anyone had this? How does it work? I had an adrenaline injection and the rest nebulised (along with hydrocortisone, magnesium, atrovent nebs, and salbutamol nebs) yesterday evening during a bad attack (silent parts of my chest again etc.). Not staying in any longer than needed being discharged today

Shortness of breath for days after exertion
Hi, everyone. I have been struggling for several years now and am wondering if anyone else has experienced this… I have had asthma since basically birth, well controlled until I turned 36, and now at 41, and I’m having shortness of breath for days after mild exertion. My asthma has never done this. I

Thank You for your advice
Good morning you lovely lot. I posted a few months ago..I'll give a quick recap.. After feeling exhausted all the time I requested a blood test in April as I've had low B12 and had to have injections in the past. The nurse decided to also check TSH and liver function etc at the same time. When I called

getting Q-var (or other inhalers) online
Has anyone tried ordering qvar (or other inhalers) online for the full price, to speed things up when GPs are non-responsive? If yes, can you recommend a pharmacy? I found a a web site ("independent pharmacy") which had Qvar 100 for about £40. They gave me the usual asthma assessment questionnaire ("

Constantly clearing throat.
I am on Fostair 200/6 two puffs twice a day with Salbutamol as a reliever. I had a flare up a couple of months ago and since then have been troubled with a lot of phlegm in my throat, which I cannot seem to cough up or clear. I am constantly clearing my throat and it is getting sore. I rang my Dr and

How safe is the Fostair 100/6 inhaler please? After having been on a Symbicort inhaler since earlier this, my Asthma Nurse has changed my medication to a Fostair. If it’s not one thing it’s another 🙄
If having pacemaker complications wasn’t enough along with pericarditis , an effusion I now have costochondritis Last few weeks I’ve had a bit of a cold , nothing more until Monday when I started with such a painful sore throat and mouth which meant I couldn’t take my medication as I was really struggling

There’s always something! Now more breathing problems.
There’s always something! I have absolutely no symptoms PMR no matter the dose. But I do have adrenal insufficiency and pulmonary problems. I am on a steroid inhaler and steroid nose spray for environmental allergies. These are usually the last things eliminated once you are off systemic steroids. After

Life is full of surprises
It's been a while since I posted here, work, travel and life just kept being so busy I never seemed to find the time(( Well my COPD has not worsened since my last post and life has been treating me well and apart from the inhaler I have not really noticed the COPD. I thought it would get me in the end

Tight chest and phlegm
I've been having an excruciatingly tight chest (at times painful), for ages now along with a tight throat and bringing up some clear phlegm. I had stopped taking my prevention inhaler. Could these symptoms be caused by that? I haven't been coughing or wheezing. I'm female and 28 if that makes a difference
