Long term side effects from salvage radiation after radical prostatectomy
Hi folks, I'm considering salvage radiation (~34 treatments) after a prostatectomy where the
PSA
didn't drop below .2. I'd like to get a feel for how common the long term side effects of Salvage radiation (to bladder, bowel, hemorrhoids, etc.) are, by hearing your experiences.

Now with rising
PSA
. 1. No evidence of local recurrence in the surgical resection bed. 2. No suspicious PSMA avid lymphadenopathy. 3. Progression of patient's known ossious metastasis with interval development of multiple new PSMA avid sclerotic osseous metastases.

What to do next?
At the end of a Lupron break in June my
PSA
was 1.1 and CT scan showed a new lymph node. I was put on six months of Lupron starting with a month of Casodex. The Casodex brought my
PSA
down to 0.452. After three months the Lupron brought my
PSA
down to 0.286.

Maybe a breakthrough in PCa detection?
https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2023/02/230207191546.htm It sounds good... more accurate than
PSA
testing.

Post radiation PSA
Repeat
PSA
went from pre of 2- post rad 3. MO wants to add Zytiga. Articles say give the radiation 2-3 months before repeating
PSA
as those cells excreted antigen and can expect a slight increase. Anyone else have an experience that can be shared or thoughts

New To The Thread
63yo, 4+4=8 Gleason,
PSA
0.05 (56 before treatment). I’m doing the triplet treatments with Lupron, Nubeqa, and taxotere (for chemo). My med oncologist has called it the STAMPEDE trial, although I’m not actually in a trial. I was diagnosed last August and recently finished chemo.

Bill Bixby's Battle with Prostate Cancer
PSA
was a new thing then. Lupron was beginning to be used around 1989, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leuprorelin. Not much can be gleaned about his battle from online articles of his death. He discovered his PC when he was "ill". He was "very weak" for a week or so before he died.

I don't know yet what the oncologist is going to say as we didn't have the
PSA
results at the visit time. My blood pressure is in the rising too, I've never had hipertensión issues.

Ultra sensitive PSA results 3 months after RP. Finding was <.02
With ultra sensitive
PSA
of <.02 three months after RP can I believe that I will be placed on a schedule to be retested at intervals or will the medical oncologist want me to start further treatment when I go to appointment on 3/10/2023? Thanks for your thoughts!

Happy that
PSA
has been slowly declining to .27 since Orchy and hope my upcoming scans don't show progression. Good luck to all.

Need some advice on what tools are still in the toolbox
FYI, I had my prostate removed in July 2019 Gleason 9,
PSA
12. I’ve run the gambit from Casodex to Docetaxel to Zytiga to Cabazitaxel to Pluvicto currently on Xtandi but it is failing. I’ve also had Lupron and Zometa along the way. All of my treatments have been at Hershey Medical Center.
