PROLIA
I had my first shot of Prolia on the 12th of Feb. I got it from my GYN. I am looking for info because I am refusing the next shot. I had RNY 22 yrs ago. I am limited to what I can and Can not take. I heard that when you stop PROLIA. you need a Rebound med. BISPHOSPHONATE. I cant take that med. Is there

In the spirit of sharing
I do not post often, but do follow the forum on a regular basis. I am very grateful to have you all as sources of information. According to the latest DEXA scan, I have severe osteoporosis (-3.7 AP spine, -2.7 femoral neck, total hip -2.5, total forearm -3.7). Both the rheumatologist and endocrinologist

90 Days to live - Day 82 - Feb 20, 2024
So on Tuesday Feb 13, 2024 my MO gave me 90 days to live if I didn't start chemo immediately. https://healthunlocked.com/advanced-prostate-cancer/posts/150538937/things-have-taken-a-turn-for-the-worse I thought I'd chronicle what 90 days to live looks like, how do I spend my time, how do I feel. My

severe osteoporosis and op drugs
is there people on here with L5 t12 who don't take any op drugs and take the risks of fractures, when I was dx I was told I must have zoledronic acid infusion to help me followed by prolia, I thought I was doomed unless I had treatment, I asked for another dexa scan before my 2nd infusion on the 25th

Strontium citrate
I was diagnosed with osteoporosis 10 years ago. I am now 73. I have been taking v D and calcium/magnesium and walking and gardening. But I have continued to loose BMD. I have not gone on any medication because I am reluctant to take a drug that interferes with the body's natural bone remodelling process

Alternative to oral bisphosphonates
Is there an alternative to oral bisphosohonates if you’re unable to take them. I may have to come off Prolia and I’m aware of possible rebound fractures if you don’t take a relay medication of bisphosohonates. I’m unable to tolerate oral bisphosohonates. My question is what can I take? Or am I doomed

FDA alert re: denosumab
This was issued specifically re: Prolia, with no mention of Xgeva. However patients should be alerted, and of course don't change your medications without first speaking to your doctor about this. https://www.fda.gov/drugs/drug-safety-and-availability/fda-adds-boxed-warning-increased-risk-severe-hypocalcemia-patients-advanced-chronic-kidney-disease

Tymlos after prolia
I have been on prolia 4ish years. I had a 4 to 5 month break due to Dr leaving and then insurance issues. No one told me to not have a break. I had 6 compression Fractures. Because of being at such a high risk for more Fractures she put me on tymlos. From what I've read and from others it has good

not enough endos?
I think we have a serious shortage of endocrinologists. I see people echoing my experience with the endocrinologist that started me on Prolia - prematurely I believe. She really did no education and we hardly discussed. "Take this. it's safe. Be sure you get your shots in time." She is always busy,

Transitioning off Prolia with Reclast
Hi, I’m set to receive my first Reclast injection soon. Also searching for a new Endo to help me get off all drugs as soon as possible (1-2-or 3 years?)

prolia forever vs dental work
i am. 76 year old woman with advanced chronic kidney disease. I am just starting my 3rd year on Prolia (injection #5). I did not adequately research the med before starting and my endocrinologist was not very forthcoming about the downside. So I took her advice and here I am - stuck. Me recent scan

Prolia
I have just received an email from my GP who has arranged for a F2F appointment to see me beginning January to discuss me starting to take Prolia. My last Dexascan in 2021 did show that I have osteoporosis, and I did take Alendronic Acid for the first two years of having Polymyalgia. Since then I have

I am 56. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis at 48. I tried the supplements etc for several years and my dexa scans only got worse. I am in the red or severe osteo category. I eat very healthy. Near Collapsing Spine
Hello, I'm new this site. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I fractured 4 vertebrae in 2021. A Rheumetologist prescribed Evenity for 1 year. It worked well with bone density increasing in all areas. Since Evenity can only be taken for 1 year he prescribed Prolia. After a Dexa Scan a few weeks
