My husband had his first Docetaxel Treatment on November 30th. On Sat, December 16th, my husband’s gum was bothering him. He tried all things that were recommended to help stop the problem especially since it was the weekend.
His glands felt swollen and he had no temperature.
It finally is starting to feel better after taking Amoxicillin.
My husband is on Prolia. It will be six months since the last injection on April 12,24 which means he can’t have major dental work done before then.
Does anyone have any information regarding teeth and or dental implant problems or infection taking this treatment Docetaxel?
Thank you

Chemo can cause a lowered white blood cell count which can mean it's easier to get an infection. Has he had his dentist check things out? Could be something minor like a gum infection that Amoxy. should clear.
TJ.....I had significant bone loss in my gums resulting in losing two implants and removal of two teeth because of an infection. All the specialist attribute it to two years of LUpron, rather than the chemo.
Got off Lupron and now on Orgovyx and what a difference. Bone has grown back and one implant replaced.
Ask your question again in a new post..... we have dentists here on H.U.
Note: I wish to offer my apologies if I offended anyone regarding my so-called humor about "race" or "misogyny". To me, humor is boundless and since we entered this word crying, I thought it would be a good idea to exit laughing.
