upcoming cataract surgery

Any advice? do I take prednisone after surgery since I will be fasting overnight? How long do I have to wait until I can bend over? Does it take longer to heal with prednisone? I'm on 3 mg.

are you having it done under general anaesthetic. Mine was done under local so no need to fast and I could take medication as normal. I can’t remember how long it was for no bending but I did bend I am sure as long as I kept my head up. You will be told all this before you leave after the op.

I had toast / coffee and took normal dose with yogurt first thing . Local anaesthetic , paper work given at the time and instructions plus eye drops for two weeks .

Plenty of related posts to view now you have written this. I was on 9mg when mine was dine, took tablets with water as usual.

The paperwork regarding operation should give advice.

It’s unusual to have to fast as normally performed under local anaesthetic.

I think they do it as a "just in case" measure - just in case sedation is required at any point.
