Down to 1 mg Pred and how to let go?!
I feel much better than 2018 and will always be grateful to the
prednisone
, but I do now know I have some arthritis and skeletal issues that cause some of the continuing discomfort. The reason I would like to let go of the Pred is not the weight - that came off several months ago.

Sleepyhead!
3 years on Eligard Abiraterone, Xgeva and
Prednisone
and lately the fatigue is unbearable, particularly after I eat a late breakfast or early lunch. And it really doesn't matter what I eat Anyone else have this?

PSA and Images all stable for 4.5 years.
My question is about backing off from the 5mg
Prednisone
that I've used for almost 5 years. Suggestions?

Expectations after six cycles of Taxotere
My husband was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer nearly three years ago, receiving a regimen of ADT, which included abiraterone, Lupron and
prednisone
. When that no longer worked, he started first-line chemotherapy. He just completed his sixth cycle.

Shingrix vaccine for immunosuppressed people aged 50+
I thought I would just post this from the gov.uk website because I have just a bit of struggle convincing our surgery that I was eligible, so maybe other people haven't been invited either. The full list is on chrome-extension://efaidnbmnnnibpcajpcglclefindmkaj/https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk

Need more info on related symptoms
I’ve finished the first 6 weeks of treatment (Lupron + Abiraterone with
Prednisone
) and PSA has gone from 8.6 to .53/ testosterone less than .4. I’ve had really none of the usual side effects like hot flashes or fatigue. I start radiation of the prostate in a couple weeks.

Facial Hair growth due to Cyclosporine
It's been 3 months post my transplant and I'm on cyclosporine,
prednisone
& MMF. I have been. experience a lot of facial hair growth. My doctors told me it could due to steroid or cyclosporin but more likely due to cyclosporine.

Day 14 on Prednisone!
Week two on pred tablets four a day last week three a day this week. Certainly seeing great improvement in my hand thank goodness. The pain was starting to get me down and not being able to use my hand properly made life difficult! Next week two tablets a day will let you know how I get on. Happy Weekend

Side effects of steroids
I am well aware that Prednisolone can affect you in various ways, acutely while you are using them and also long term.. But could it weaken your blood vessels? I have just found out that I have a couple of small bleeds/leaks from blood vessels at the back of one eye. While the bleeds in themselves

Prednisolone came down to fast
Hi everyone, I tried unsuccessfully to taper down from 10mg to 8mg and like Dorsetlady said it was too big a drop. And she was right I tried saying that I will get over the severe aches and pains to no avail I had to go back to 10mg.Thank you for reading my small note. Peter

implant Surgery Tomorrow
The dental surgeon says to take 10 mg prednisolone in the morning before having the tooth extracted and implant put in. She knows I’m currently on 3-3.5 mg and has PMR long term. She says the extra is to help with the anxiety/stress and that as my body likely isn’t producing cortisol of its own this

Steroid Withdrawal at lower levels of Prednisone
They agreed with the adrenal glands having to start working, but said that at that low level of
Prednisone
, I won’t get steroid withdrawal! A year ago, they were accusing me of being addicted to
Prednisone
, that it was like Cocaine for me...sheesh.

pmr flare
Hi I just got down to 4.5/mg of
prednisone
and started to get stiffness in a number of areas. As I flared once before I am more careful now. I went up to 9 mg 3 days ago. I will stay there for about 8 days. Is that long enough? I will then go down to 5 mg can I do that in one drop or stage it.

Prednisone forever?
Hi Everyone, It's been a while since I've posted. My hubby is almost at 1 year on Pred for PMR. As soon as he tapers, his shoulder pain comes back. He is recently retired and suffering through this madness, which I think started after taking a booster (please don't debate me - this is factual to me

Rheumy visit recently, going forward…..
had my 2-3 monthly Rheumy visit last week. I’m currently on 6.5mg….looking to taper down to 6 soon (delayed as I had a cold recently.) Touch wood, all generally going along ok……she seems confident in my slow tapering method and seems happy to let me continue at my own pace 👏🏻. She said that we’ll

A bit confused!
I’m also taking 5mg of
Prednisone
, until the methotrexate kicks in (so the nurse said). I’m currently having blood tests every two weeks and last week the consultant phoned me to say my white blood cells were very high. He asked if I had an infection of any kind, which I don’t.

I’m back again …5th cycle 🤞
It feels very daunting , been over a year. Not planned to wait this long but had so many set backs. I had my laporoscopy surgery in June (after been cancelled 3 times ) , recovery and then a week before I was meant to start next cycle , I caught covid. I had an appointment last week with miscarriage

Prednisolone And Thinning Skin
Hi, I don’t post on here very often but I have a problem that I would like to share. I have been on Prednisolone for about eight years, since I was diagnosed with Polymyalgia; it caused my retirement at 64 years. I even posted a poem on here that I wrote, with the first line "Polly Myalgia, she
