unexplained lower abdomen infection, increase Prednisone?
I’ve had a sore tender lower abdomen, temperature, shivers since Thursday teatime, which resulted in a trip to A&E (England). Admitted due to high CRP (267 instead of around 20), and high white cell count (20 instead of 10). Day 2 and CRP is now 277 but white cell count down to 15. So far they have

Question re side effects of Prednisone at different levels
I'm tapering slowly and at 14mg
Prednisone
now. A couple days ago I received blood work results which showed a marked increase of A1C, LDLs and Glucose. I'm a careful eater and I exercise. Therefore I believe this is the fault of the Pred.

Hi there, I’ve (24M) been on fostair as a preventer inhaler since around the age of 17/18. My asthma has been extremely well controlled on 2 puffs BD for a number of years. However a few weeks ago I have quite a bad flare up which landed me in A&E twice and had a 2 week course of prednisolone. Since

Anyone have a new perspective on prednisone “ok” dose?
I’ve been slowly reducing my
prednisone
over many months. From 5 mg. now to 2 mg for about 6 weeks. My diagnosis of lupus came in 2016. I’ve been living with a spine problem for many years. It wasn’t until 2016 though that I began
prednisone
at 3 mg with my hydroxy.

Advice Please, I am in a terrible state.
I am a mess. I was tapering my prednisolone from 3mg to 2.5 mg using a reduction over 14 weeks, starting 19th September and was progressing nicely. In November we travelled long haul UK to USA, journey no hassle, flights good. But, I did experienced emotional stress caused by a family upset while

pain relief for sciatica
I've trapped the sciatic nerve in my left hip. I have exercises which help, but still need pain relief. Paracetamol has no effect, is it safe to take ibuprofen with prednisolone? I thought I had read somewhere that it wasn't.

Prednisolone Week 1 Completed
UPDATE: So, my first week of Prednisolone is over....30mg goes down to 20mg today. My symptoms are MASSIVELY improved. I would say I'm about at 85% full functionality in all areas. I still experience some pain in my right shoulder on waking and also in my right hip. My hand stiffness has virtually completely

Has anyone had to stop actemra?
Anyways I’m back up to 10mg of
prednisone
and not going back on Actemra because of diverticulitis. I was wondering if anyone else had a similar situation of having to abruptly stop Actemra and how did it go?

Understanding the source of my pain.
But could it be temporary
prednisone
myalgia that just took nine days to subside? I'm confused about what "
prednisone
mylagia" even is. Is the same thing as temporary
prednisone
withdrawal? Or are those two separate things?

Oral Thrush that does not go away
I am at a low dose
prednisone
of 3 mg. Have taken all sugar out of my diet. Has anyone else had this problem? Should I begin taking methotrexate which my rheumatologist has suggested but respects my decision to stay on hydroxy. Maybe take it every other day? Any advice is welcome. MrsMarigold

GCA morphing into PMR?
Hello dear friends: I’ve been on the GCA journey almost 3 years now and I am down to 1 mg
prednisone
. I’ve been under terrible stress especially the past week but continuing for a couple months. And suddenly now and I am almost off of
prednisone
for GCA, I have fear that PMR is kicking in.

Covid/PMR Questions
My doctor had warned me that because of the
prednisone
, I needed to contact her if I had exposure to or showed symptoms of Covid or any other bug. My recollection is that she said if I got sick, she would increase my dose of
prednisone
since my own immune system was suppressed by the
prednisone
.
