Hi! Just joined. Is there MG-lite?
I recently found out I have 0.12nmol/L of anti-AChR antibodies, but am told that's too low to be of any consequence. I certainly don't have the tell-tale symptoms of full-blown myasthenia gravis (MG), but I do have a very easily fatigued, twitchy, blinky left eye (and milder symptoms in the right one

As if the unknowns about PMR weren't enough ! My recent flare happened as I was actually doing physical therapy for some lower back pain related to disc / nerve problems. And the PT was quite helpful, so the condition seemed to be resolving. But one morning my hips and low back were suddenly so

Hi! I just joined. CIDP: Is anyone like me?
My neurologist thinks I might have chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP), despite the fact that, apart from the occasional shooting pain, cramp, or twinge, I don't have any motor-control, spasm or electric-shock-like symptoms. What I do have is longstanding, progressive, bilateral

GCA starting again?
Started with GCA 2016, had a couple of flares but got down to 3 mg. Then a couple of years after that started with PMR up with the steroids. Had a couple of flares, arthritis too now in knees and shoulders. About 3 years ago started with vertigo which hasn’t been bad. For two days have had really bad

Eyesight and Steroids
I'll be posting this across two sites. Last summer I went for a check up with the optician - I have worn glasses for reading for about 20 years, but this summer was told I needed them for driving, watching tv etc. I had the prescription filled and wore the glasses as directed - however about a week

Medicines and dementia risk
Hello. I'm 64 years old with a painful back problem (lumbar spinal stenosis, spondylosis and spondylolisthesis). While I wait for an appointment at the Pain Clinic, I was recommended by the musculoskeletal specialist to try a drug called gabapentin. My doctor put me on another from this group of drugs

Could be some positivity for frequent UTI sufferers.
Good morning folks. Just entering the fourth year since my GCA diagnosis and having suffered around 17 UTI's in that time (hospitalised with two) along with constant symptoms in between, I've swallowed tons of D-Mannose, cranberry supplements, given up caffeine, artificial sweeteners, used vaginal pessaries

Where do I go from here?
I've many years history of Rheumatoid Arthritis and Polymyalgia (PMR). I developed vasculitis in August, possibly triggered by apixaban. That had been started after an episode of dramatically low sodium had caused Atrial Fibrillation. I'm now on 25mg prednisolone, azathioprine 125mg daily. This is stops

Introduction and Thanks
First of all I would like to introduce myself. My name is Roy and I am 78 and although I am English I now live in Adelaide, Australia.. Up until the last year or two I have had a good health run ( I realise how lucky I am ) until the dreaded PMR struck. After diagnosing myself, thanks to Dr Google, and

11dp5dt bfp but spotting
Hi looking for reassurance or anyone with a similar story. I’m currently 11dp5dt and have had positive tests since day 5 which I’m very happy about. However today I noticed a bit of light brown discharge and then half an hour later wiped away dark red blood. There was loads of it but enough to make me

Morning, I’m looking for some advice please about taking my prednisolone after a long haul flight as we will be away for two months. I usually take my prednisolone about 8am, we are flying to Australia for our granddaughter’s wedding in a couple of weeks so I can take my prednisolone at the normal

Side effect of prednisolone
The end of last Nov/Dec last year I had to take a long course of prednisolone over 2 weeks. Then a reducing dose back down to zero. Nine days ago I had a blood test to check my blood sugar. It came back a little raised. This I was told wasn't too concerning as I had been on steriods. This test will

which diuretic with prednisolone?
I posted a while ago about diuretics - thanks for the responses. Mum was put on furosemide which worked for the odema, but within a week had diarrhoea which meant it was stopped and we ended up with a bad uti with haemorrhage due to the diarrhoea…… It may have been the furosemide causing the diarrhoea

Hi, after multiple IVF failures the latest two with PGTA tested euploid embryos, I had another hysteroscopy, curettage and culture and sensitivity procedure yesterday. The consultant said everything looked healthy and normal but I have to wait a week or two for the biopsy report. My tubes were both

Can PMR effect hip, pelvic area
Hello everyone, I have been on prednisolone for just over three weeks, pain in neck, shoulders & arms have improved . I thought my low back had gone into spasm at the weekend however I am wondering if it could be PMR . The pain in hips and pelvic area is excruciating first thing in the morning easing
