Treatment update-is SBRT missing the lesions ?
Zytiga,
prednisone
, Eligard knocked PSA to <.064 until 1/23 PET showed new small lesion in left hip. Radiation 35 Gray 5/5 completed 3/15/23 with PSA drop then bounce from 0.24 to 5.9 triggered another PET on 9/6/23 which showed a new metastasis in same area.

Baseline PSMA-Pet scan?
I've been on Lupron & Zytiga/5mg
prednisone
since 8/1/2022. I started out with Gleason (3+4) 7. Last May I had pelvic radiation to hit lymph nodes as per a 2021 PSMA-Pet scan. Now it's time to stop all treatment at the 2 year mark.

Starting the journey Interested in comments Gleason 5+4 Met to Lymph and Maybe ribs
They say the treatment isn't much different, and are starting meds with 7 days of Bicalutamide, then a shot of Leuprolide every 6 months along with Abiraterone and
Prednisone
daily. Radiation IGBT to follow in 3 months.

Bad Back
Been off
Prednisone
for six weeks after a four year journey. Before PMR and
Prednisone
I suffered with my back but whilst on steroids I didn’t. I have had a painful and stiff back for the last week and am tempted to try my remaining Pred tablets for a couple of days.

GCA flair
I have been dealing with my flairs and upping my
prednisone
then trying to go back down. I was doing ok for the last month at 7 mg. I am also on Actemera infusions once a month. I went on vacation for three weeks and was not back in time for my four week infusion.

Does Timing of Prednisone Matter?
I started taking 15mg of
Prednisone
for PMR over 14 months ago. My tapering had been fairly successful until I reached 4.5mg.

Can't squat or raise arms without pain?
I have tapered down to 1 mg
Prednisone
over three years (from 15mg). I have the same weird symptoms that I've always had. If I squat, my legs feel an extreme fatigue/deadness. I can't raise my arms for more than 15-20 seconds without them feeling an extreme fatigue/pain/deadness.

Had the ablation.
On 7 mgm
prednisone
. The thought of GCA lurked in my head. Otherwise I feel quite well considering I'm soon to be 82. I add, that when the local anesthetist saw my pulmonary function tests he did not want to do the procedure but my daily exercise paid off.

Should it take this long to taper with PMR/GCA?
I am so sorry to be needing advice again, but I am wondering if anyone else has struggled to wean from higher doses of
Prednisone
for PMR and GCA. Since late January I have been on dosages of 65mg. and weaned down to 45mg. by early April.

New person here...
I'm not thrilled to be on
Prednisone
long term, along with Fosamax to protect my bones, but it is wonderful to once again be able to dress myself, put on my socks & shoes, tie my own shoes and numerous other things!
