Questions on side effects and long term treatment.
The alternative seems to be the slow release
pramipexole
. Question 1: does the slow release
pramipexole
have side effects like the Patch as I would like to remain awake during the working day?

Family planning and RLS
My GP has said that I cannot take the
pramipexole
and that there is no safe RLS medication for use during pregnancy.

The side effects of Sinemet have me pretty frightened.
I'm hoping to stay on
Pramipexole
as long as possible (its side effects are bad enough) In any case, isn't it better to put off the Sinemet as long as possible? The sooner you start it, the sooner it loses its effectiveness , right? Or am I mistaken?

Pramipexole
as ths medication works and maybe the continuous dose will help me sleep if we get the dose right or do i try the Neupro patch and hope for the best. bambisoloved

Does anyone else get restless legs and arms?
I have had restless legs and arms since diagnosis. I am now on pramipexol. I started to get times when my whole body would be twitching. I am no longer on wafarin as I could never stabilise my inr. Do others get this. I have catastrophic Hughes. ..

Rectal bleeding and Gabapentin?
I am taking 2x100mg tablets three times per day and they are doing nothing for my RLS but I am running out of alternatives as suffered augmentation on both
pramipexole
and ropinarole plus side effects of insatiable appetite and compulsive shopping habit. Ellsbells.

Rheumatology appointment ( first referral )
I have also developed Restless legs syndrome very severely this year, overnight, now controlled to a good degree, with
Pramipexole
, and also recently very dry eyes, mouth skin and nails, for which I am using eye ointment every day, for the eyes.

"Didn't we have a loverly time the day we went to...Brugge!"
I suffer from peridiodic limb movement disorder for which I take four 0.088mg
pramipexole
tabs each night. Also, I get RLS, particularly during the day and early evening if I stay still in one place for any great length of time.

I saw Dr Ray Chaudhuri at Kings Collage Hospital yesterday He has reccomended Neupro patch. Can anybody give me some advice
I suffer from what i thought was secondry insomnia due to RLS and or sideffect to
Pramipexole
but Dr Chaudhuri thinks i should not have any sleep problems,
Pramipexole
helps people with RLS to sleep. It does but only for 1-2 hours after taking it.

It's even worse when it's impossible to get out of bed.
At the moment I'm on
Pramipexole
0.52mg prolonged release tablets. One in the morning and one at night, and I'm getting a wonderful 5 hours sleep most nights.

How can I help my Mum?
Mum has been taking Ropinorole for about 10 months but she has got worse and her meds have been changed to
Pramipexole
which don't seem to be having any further effect at all. I have seen a lot of blogs that say that a hot bath is effective but unfortunately I can't get Mum in a bath.

Clocks "going back" in the UK: does this have an effect on the treatment of our RLS and, if so, what do sufferers do about it?
If we are used to taking our meds at a certain time in the evening to gain relief all through the night, the change must have an effect, i.e. say
pramipexole
lasted 8 hours and it was taken an hour earlier or later than usual it would have an effect surely.

I have been using
Pramipexole
for a few months now but after a really bad couple of nights tried stopping all alcohol. The effect has been dramatic . I would really like to hear from others about this illness because it is having such a drastic effect on my life.
