Anyone using posaconazole?

Is anyone using posaconazole for aspergillosis? I have been using Sporanox (branded itraconazole) but consultant wants me to change to posaconazole as he says it's more effective and has fewer side effects (I didn't have any side effects with Sporanox that I'm aware of).

Experiences of amphotericin?

Convinced it was probably fungal, I politely stamped my feet a bit and in the end she got a total of a month of posaconazole that improved things by about 75%, suggesting fungus is indeed still an issue.

Experiences of amphotericin?

We moved to fall under a highly specialist hospital last summer, and following an empirical, month long course of posaconazole they gave her in an effort to resolve the prolonged, *really* bad spell of chest health we moved to them with (that worked absolute wonders), she’s subsequently had a couple

Advice needed, please!

I just wanted to ask if anyone else who experienced bad side effects on voriconazole and posaconazole found that they continued after stopping the drug? I came off 5 weeks ago and at first felt dreadful.

Chronic pulmonary aspergillus

successfully treated and now been in remission for 7 yrs, but on his last cycle of chemo he developed a rarer well in UK anyway, invasive fungal infection called Zygomycetes, his consultants didn't think he would survive as it had spread to liver, spleen and bone, but he was treated with IV Ambisome and oral Posaconazole

Posaconazole was also found to be more effective than no prophylaxis/placebo in reducing all-cause mortality. The drug had the highest probability of being the most effective agent in reducing IFI risk and all-cause mortality.

do you think changing medication is likely to make a difference?

My consultant is admitting me to try me on posaconazole. The other two meds helped at the time but as the years went on they both seemed to have served their purpose. Is it likely I will tolerate this new medicine and is it likely to help? Doctor wants me in hospital in case I have any reaction.
