Bronchiectasis and unrelated antibiotics
Yesterday I had dental surgery to extract a molar because it was fractured ( could that be due to many many events with prednison???), and now I am on antibiotics amoxicilin. Dentist says 6 days or so. In general my peak flow always increases with antibiotics for other reasons (dental, urinary), but

New to biologics - don't feel particularly well.
Evening all. Hope everyone is managing ok in this cold weather š„¶. So in the last 2 weeks I've had to take rescue doses for my adrenal insufficiency, had 2 emergency hydrocortisone injections (each one administered by work colleagues a week apart) as not caught early enough and generally felt off.

On Friday I'm due to have my 6th Nucala injection. The first 3 have been amazing. I felt a new person after battling with Eosinophilic Asthma. After my 4th & 5th I have not felt quite so good and now 'doubt' is beginning to creep in. I notice occasional back pain and aching in some joints. My Peak

Asthma anxiety
Hello everyone, I am just writing a post as I wanted to see if I am alone in this and whether anyone has any suggestions to help. I will give a bit of a backstory to this. I had mild asthma from the age of 13 however it wasn't serious enough that my parents never took me to get diagnosed. Fast forward

Hi, I know Iāve posted similar to this before but I suppose itās because I donāt know where I stand in terms of breathing/ asthma status I do also have anxiety which Iāve received help for but I still feel on edge with the whole I might have asthma thing. I have had tests which havenāt revealed anything

Do you ever feel like you are choking on mucus?
I am a recently diagnosed asthmatic after a horrible experience two month ago when I was in hospital for two weeks. About a week and a half ago I got a cold that left me very snotty and has slowly moved to my chest. Yesterday, I found myself breathing noisily on inhale and exhale. It was quite frightening

peak flow is okay but struggling to breathe
is anyone struggling to breathe even if the peak flow doesn't drop much? My best is 550 on Symbicort plus Spiriva and I find that the peak flow doesn't drop below 470-500 even if I struggle to breathe with tight and burning chest? Sometimes even with confirmed chest infection and wheeze across chest

Week4 Run3
Completed run 3 yesterday, really enjoyed the run and tried running the first two segments slower so that I could pick up the pace on the last two run segments, I did achieve that, but it made very little difference to my overall time, I think my asthma is improving, but I have been a bit more vigilant

Steroids not working?
Iāve just had a 5 day rescue course of prednisolone due to an asthma flare. However, my peak flow is still only about 70% and I have an itchy, scratchy throat and cough. I donāt actually have a cold so Iām not sure whatās going on. Iāve never had a course of steroids before where it hasnāt made me completely

Despair at not being helped
Long story. Diagnosed mild bronchiectasis 2010. Regular OP follow up till 2017 in local hospital and regional immunology clinic till 2021. Also have IgA deficiency and auto immune arthritis. Exacerbation since June 2023 and still coughing loads sputum every day. Sputum tests have shown lots of infection

Incorrect Hospital Records
Hi, Iāve been having some problems with the respiratory team and requested a copy of my hospital records, which Iāve received. After going through them, thereās lots of information missing and details which are incorrect. Iām a severe asthmatic, and the consultant has now noted āno definitive diagnosis
