Re:- Do I take my inhaler first before i do my peak flow reading?
Hi there I have been advised to start doing my peak flow readings before i attend my asthma review, i have both an electronic peak flow meter and a Mini Wright Peak Flow Meter, had them for a couple of years, but have hardly used it... I forgot to ask and i can not remember from past experiences

Re Results of my asthma review today
Hi Everyone Had my asthma review today, and came out fairly unscaved. I am pleased i have managed to stay on my Singulair, after being told they were going to stop it, even though i have had great results from it (No attacks for the 3 months i have been on it.) I ran out of the Singulair last week

work and asthma
My asthma is really playing up at work at the moment I am getting really short of breath and I am suffering with a tight chest quite a lot of the time. I work with a lot of students with challenging behaviour and they are young people with special needs. I have a student who likes to run out of classroom

Blood Test and Doctors Appointments
I have painful arms and I am buising a lot more than I have ever done before. So I went to see the doctor on the 22nd July and he recommended that I had a blood test, so on the 29th July I had a full blood test to check my bloods were all ok. My bloods came back as normal. I have been having to use

Peak Flow
As it seems to be peak flow day here, thought I would ask some advice too. My peakflow was between 250-300 when having difficulties. After treatment it is now generally 280 -300, 320 on a rare occasion. I don't have any of the symptoms at the moment so should I worry about the peak flow still being

Another rant about doctors and advice needed please
OK so as many of you may know I have been having issues with my asthma since January. Back before the new year my peak flow was ranging a normal of 430-450 every day and then I came down with a horrid chest infection that came right out the blue with no warnings and since then I have been seeing my doctor

Asthma & Medication
Hi All, I'm after a little advice from real life asthma sufferers as I am not too sure/confused about mine. Firstly I will apologise for the length of the post, but it is necessary to get the details across so sorry... I was diagnosed with asthma 9 months ago (aged 22), after having an 'asthma attack

Peak Flow good but still feel bad
My asthma's been getting troublesome this week, really uncomfortable, but my peak flow is between 400-450, which is really good. I'm confused - can I have a good peak flow but still be having an attack my reliever doesn't help? And if so, what do I do?

Peak flow readings?
Is anybody else asthmatic but has high peak flows? My personal best is well above what my average should be and even when I'm feeling really bad asthma wise my peak flows are still near my personal best. I don't understand how I can feel so lousy but my results prove otherwise??

New to asthma
Hello, I have recently been to see my gp with regards to a ""cough"" that I get every time the weather gets cold, they seem to think that this could be asthma and have given me a peak flow to do over the next 10 days. My highest reading so far is 250, is this a good reading or a bad reading? I am quite

inducing asthma by doing Peak Flow
Just wondered if I am the only one with this problem. I have brittle asthma and if I am well I can do a Peak Flow and I become a bit wheezy. If I do the standard 3 Peak Flows then I have a full attack and need a nebulizer. Needless to say, I dont record my Peak flow much as it makes me ill. When I go

Peak Flows
My GP has told me to keep a close look over my peak flow readings so i can work out if i am likely to have an atack or not. i felt the explanation was rather rushed and i don't really know what i'm looking for. My personal bes is 400 although on a really good day it can be slightly higher but at the

30% Drop in Peak Flow?
I'm currently running a peak flow which is 30% below my 'normal' level. I'm not sure if this is something to be concerned about? I don't feel particularly unwell just a little short of breath. Is it normal to have a fluctuation of 30% or is this is big drop? Thanks

Can anxiety cause you to wheeze?
I had a bad night last night. Think it may be caused by anxiety. My peak flow is down to 400 this morning. Its normally 420-430. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Julie XX

Whats your peak flow?
Just wondered what everyone's normal peak flow is? My all time personal record is 550, with a usual score of 480ish when under control. The last week or so, its been in the 300's. I have no idea what the ""normal"" range is although I guess that it all varies per individual. Would be interested to
