examination - what are the options? If any...not sure who to trust
Hi All, Just been to my gp today and talked about my concerns with having asthma or developing it. Didn't get much advice what I could do to prevent it though...just not smoking :) I'm doing now my peak flow for a month and then I'm booked with Asthma Nurse for a check. If it turns out I do have asthma

correlation between peak flow and symptoms?
A,m still have a significant increase in symptoms at the moment, not yet brought under better control by the increase in Seretide dosage. No infection, I think, but lots of morning coughing and scary wheeziness, tight chest and more rapid, or harder work breathing during the day, and a strange sensation

Or should that be missing in inaction. I have missed this forum, I do pop by but with work I struggle for time. So in my last post I mentioned I'd given up on after work runs, tried a morning run, got another 5k personal best and sorted out a 10k training plan. So this week has looked something like

What constitutes an attack?
Hi, background: still learning to live with this, asthma hit last year, probably heightened hormonal sensitivity to allergens with perimenopause/ menopause. But I also get exercise induced asthma so take a couple of puffs in advance. Been coughing a lot all summer, completely stuffed nose etc, but

Currently being diagnosed
Hi all, I'm new here. I'm currently going through the long process of confirming if I have asthma. When I was around 5, my doctor at the time said I was on the borderline of being asthmatic, but at the time I didn't really have symptoms so it was left at that. Fast forward 20 years and my hay fever started

Symbicort not Working Properly?
I have been on symbicort (alternating between 200/6 and 400/12 during flare ups) for the past year, which I know is a combination of formoterol & busesonide. Prior to this, I was on a clenil modulite inhaler (200mcg twice daily) which I believe was a different steroid (beclometasone dipropionate?) The

Just diagnosed and really confused!!!!!
Hi This my background. I have a history of getting chest infections, which involve feeling bunged up not being able to or find it very hard to get rid of phlegm. I try an exercise as often as possible usually about 3 or 4 times a week, by running going to gym or lift kettlebells in my home. This year

Newbie with rapid onset of lung-related symptoms (Asthma, COPD, virus?)
Hello everybody! I am new here and have found reading through people's comments and experience very helpful so far, so thank you! I wanted to see if anyone has any ideas on some symptoms I have been experiencing over the past 2 weeks - my doctor has diagnosed me with asthma and given me a peak flow

Viral-induced asthma diagnosis
I suffered with asthma from the age of 11 up until about 18. Am currently 35 and have a had a nasty viral infection for the last few weeks. It has resulted in a an inflamed airway and a persistent night time cough. I visited the docs today and she says that the virus has aggravated my asthma symptoms

In a galaxy far far away...
2 weeks in the medic ship and finally I was cleared for active duty, onwards in the fight to over throw the evil Emperor Palpatine, while keeping my Jedi powers a secret, lest I get rounded up and killed like many before me. For now we must keep our powers secret, though I hear tell of a young warrior
