Hi everyone, I hope your day is behaving itself! I was here a couple of weeks ago introducing myself as possibly having COPD. I had a GP appointment this morning... Repeat chest X-ray is clear. Doc is wondering if I am post viral though I don't remember having any signs or symptoms of a chest virus.

What to do now?
Hi everyone, I'm going to Poland for a few days in December, and I'm worried that the cold might set off another exacerbation - changes in weather seem to be a trigger for me. I was sent home from work last week, after being stubborn and refusing to admit that I was struggling with a peak flow reading

Has anyone experienced low peak flow after using Revla Elipta?
My consultant suggested I change from Seretide to Revla Elipta three months ago. My peak flow dropped right away and has remained lower than I would like ie about 200 if I'm lucky, slightly under if not. I mentioned this to the respiratory physio who encouraged me to keep going with it as the Seretide

Hi
Hi All, Diagnosed with late on set asthma at 60. Prior to this had been told my upper respiratory congestion was due to post nasal drip. But things got worse, climbing hills, any rapid change of pace etc. I am a survivor of breast cancer in my 40s, when I had lots of chemo and radio therapy to left side

Problems with corticosteroid inhalers
Does anyone else have problems whereby the corticosteroid inhaler seems to make symptoms of chest tightness and mucous worse after a few days of use? I was diagnosed with late onset chronic asthma this year, though I also have some fixed obstruction and a peak flow of 300 instead of 500. My symptoms

What's your Peak Flow before and after reliever?
As part of diagnonsis, I'm keeping a peak flow diary and logging scores before and after reliever inhaler, twice a day. I'm averaging peak flow 520 before inhaler and 620 after. I wonder what kind of difference others get? Maybe as a percentage change rather than getting hung up on the number as we're

What can I do?
Been coughing heavily since Friday so went the docs on Monday who listened to my chest and said I didn't have a chest infection but she could hear wheezing and that I was having an asthma flare up/exacerbation (she suggested it could be some sort of virus or the hot/cold damp air) advised me to double

Mucus as an asthma symptom
Hi, I had my first asthma review a few weeks ago and was told by the nurse that mucus wasn't a symptom of asthma. This was a shock as it's my main symptom and goes against the advice of a lung specialist I saw in Ireland earlier in the year who diagnosed allergic asthma. I was given a peak flow meter

Diagnosis using peak flow diary and reliever
Hi Following on from my initial post, where I was awaiting spirometery test and a xray, I got my results. My xray was clear and the spirometery results quite good, nearly matching the forecast graph. The only downside was a lung age reading 8 years older than me. So no COPD or tumors etc., leaving asthma

Returning to work after a asthma attack
I'm due to return to work on Tuesday(8-11-16) but I'm still feeling absolutely awful after being in hospital on nebulisers and being signed off for two weeks. I have an appointment with my GP Monday morning, do you think I should ask to be signed off again as I'm still coughing a fair bit and I can't

low peak flow
I am 86 years old and for the past 40 years or so have been diagnosed with COPD. My height is 65 inches and weight 9 stone. My peak flow is usually about 260. It has been around this value for the past 40 years. I take 2 puffs a day of beclamethasone. I run twice a week over about 3 miles across country

Peak Flow
Hey all, I'm in the process of being diagnosed with asthma... but there seems to be a lot of differing ideas around what my peak flow should be. One says 440 and one was 485.. I'm 5"6', female, white, 24 year old .. my peak flow is averaging at 340 at the moment, but sometimes gets up to 390/400. Lowest

I'm really not that bad, but...
Compared with many folks on here, I'm really not too bad but I'm not tickety boo either! I have asthma, COPD and Bronchiectasis. I start the day with great promise - full of ideas of what to do - people to see, places to go. Then I do my physio and have a little rest before having my shower, after which

What can I do to ease cough/break up phlegm?
Hi everyone. Wondering if anyone can give me some tips for clearing mucus/making airway clearer. I had a cough with green phlegm last week, so GP gave me a course of amox. Improved, but got worse yesterday so saw GP. Now on 40mg pred and stronger antibiotic. I can get air into my lungs ok and am not

Flutiform v. Seretide
Have had a persistent flair up of asthma symptoms for the last three months following a severe chest infection which was treated with a course of antibiotics and steroid tablets alongside my usual 2x250 Seretide morning and evening. This was then increased to 2x500 twice a day as well as the addition
