I am a 67 year old female 5' 3" tall & my peak flow is about 360. There are charts on line where you can work out your predicted reading. You'll need to know your height as well as your age/sex. They seem to vary slightly from chart to chart but will give you an idea.

Hi tunbury41,

You can check on the chart below

google.co.uk/search?q=asthm...

It depends on your age, height, gender.

I am 62 male 5'8" so my expected is 555.

My current peak flow readings are between 400 - 470, I normally take a reading 1st thing in the morning and last thing at night before taking any meds. I do start taking extra doses of my salbutamol if I drop below 380.

Everyday there's a post about peak flows! It is becoming clear to me that these are not a good guide to your symptoms or their extent, because individuals vary wildly. The important thing is how you feel and whether the medication improves your symptoms. I wouldn't get too hung up on absolute values - this is not a competition to score the best result!

Thank you I think you are absolutely right
