So today I have another strange new symptom - quick shooting pain from my left side across/through my left breast. Its happened 3 times today and each time its been about 6 quick pains then went away, all times I have been relaxed and at rest. I have done an ECG on my Apple Watch, checked my heart rate and blood pressure and nothing is amiss. I had an echocardiogram and was checked by cardiologist in July at the request of my Rheumy and nothing was found. Obviously I decided to "google it" as I love frightening myself 🙄 but the most obvious thing for me appears to be muscoskelatal which is mentioned but I have no idea why.
Anyone experienced something like this and able to give me any advice or further information please?

That's odd isn’t it? Is it across the chest wall under the breast material or actually through the breast itself? How long has it been happening for? Shingles?
Hi Snazzy, its completely through the breast itself from my side below the arm pit 6 or so sort of shooting pulsing, throb pains and then goes away until a few hours later. Ive had shingles years ago and its nothing like that sort of pain, not nervy either. I even wondered whether it might be indigestion, although a funny place for it, as one event was after eating my cheese sandwich at lunch time.
Yes and all is well. I have it in the back of my mind from years ago that it could be connected to acid reflux and a nerve that is in that area but can't quite remember the details. A great deal has happened since then, but thank you for trying to help me.
uh-ho Im on Spiralactone 25mg and the GP wants me to increase it to 50mg from tomorrow to lower my blood pressure as I tolerate this well. The Clinical Pharmacist at the Surgery put me on Felodipine and my ankles and legs are now so swollen any plans to walk are hopeless. The physiotherapist said I was walking like a duck. Been off it 3 days now but GP says it will take longer for the swelling to go down. Why on earth they would give a person with walking difficulties a drug that makes the ankles and calves swell I really don't know as its a well know side effect and they had already tried me with amlodipine. Its just not my week.
I don't understand the UK preoccupation with the -lodipines! Anyone would think they were the only option for BP! Have you tried flight socks? Proper compression socks might be better but you need measured for them. I have intermittent swollen ankles - got the script for my free socks today - just got to get it stamped as approved and then I can order them.
That's exactly what the Physiotherapist recommended but the GP wasn't for it. I could buy on Amazon. Meanwhile Im keeping my feet up and I have an adjustable bed so sleeping with the feet raised. Thought I would be peeing all day long but that hasn't happened. GP said it doesn't work like that. I was just getting about a bit better after the steroid injection too and now this. I think the NHS have to try all the cheap meds first. Hope the socks work for you, no doubt will look very glamourous 😀
my dentist recommended that I change from a -lodipine ( tried Am,then Fel) and both caused swelling of my gums. I am now on Ramipril but is not as effective at reducing BP.
I also reacted in the same way to Amlopodine and Indipamide which made my feet and legs swell up so much I couldn't walk and it felt as though my legs would burst like a balloon. I had to buy bigger shoes so I stopped altogether and the swelling went down completely within a few days. Still not on BP medication but my leg muscles are very stiff - maybe that is why
I can't really help specifically but all I can say is that I get those sort of pains all over my body from time to time. Unpredictable, in strange places, not related to activity so I just assume that it is like nerve spasms.
I have had something similar. It followed on with a dull ache. Have had a good grope to see if any lumps were there, but fortunately there are none that I can feel. It has gone away now after a week or so. I put it down to a mixture of stress, over activity and adrenal insufficiency.
I know this will sound like a weird question but do you also suffer from Chronic Migraines?
Do you also have other types of Neuropathy or Neuro pain issues like Fibromyalgia?
Had you been cleaning high cupboards for Christmas , taking your body weight of chicolate selection boxes off a high supermarket shelf , or doing a different type of upper body movement or exercise?
Change in upper body activity , Fibromyalgia, Chronic Neuropathy and Migraines that also effect your body like Vestibular and Cyclical migraine can all cause thunderclap episodes of pain which comes and goes suddenly in various places , including , and quite commonly in the armpit and breast. I get this pain quite often , especially after exercise and in cold weather.
I always check the BP Monitor but if I find that to be normal it's usually the neuropathy combined with a bit of poor peripheral circulation .
