Pressure on center of back as in lying down or sitting against the back of a chair etc.
I have been diagnosed with AF and have a pace maker. Recently i have found it uncomfortable to put pressure on center of back and it brings on palpitations and short breath and an irregular rythm.I have an emay portable ECG . I could send a printout.

How do I know if my thyroid is the problem?
Hi after some advice, I am not feeling well this week I feel really tired and lethargic. I feel cold on and off and a bit emotional. I don't know if its because I overdid it a bit last week, I usually pace myself since my thyroidectomy but had a really busy week last week. Or if it is something viral

Weight Gain after thyroidectomy
A useful, but still with incomplete understanding review of thyroid hormone treatment after thyroidectomy and weight gain. There are some useful points about FT3 and the effect of lower FT3 on propensity for weight gain. Open paper. Folia Medica 63(6):834-8DOI: 10.3897/folmed.63.e59851834 Weight

thyroidectomy
I have recently seen a specialist who has suggested i have my thyroid removed due to a large nodule on the left and a small cyst on the right. My recent bloods show that my thyroid is functioning normally. I would just like to know if anyone else has experienced this as I am quite scared about the

Updated Thyroid levels and new Vitamin readings
Hi, I recently posted as a Newbie (under the name Sailorbo, which I've now discontinued as I had a previous registration with the BHF). As a quick recap, had a full Thyroidectomy last September due to Papillary Cancer. I'm not having Radioactive Iodine as I already have poor saliva and it might make

Can you have thyroiditis with normal lab results?
I started getting a very painful front of neck about 7 weeks ago that was affecting one side but now has spread to the other side. It's not particularly visable but feels swollen to touch. During this time I started with palpitations that seem to get worse during the night and affect my sleep. I have

Can persistent af be "cured" with one cardioversion??
Hi, 50 year old female with persistent AFib, diagnosed in July 2022. Seen cardiologist last week, I'm for cardioversion in next few weeks and he has said he will see me again early next year and suggests he will take me off meds and that's me done. I have been looking at other posts online and it suggests

Results of Exercise Before Bed Afib Experiment- Plus idea about 'Afib Citizen Science Projects' for forum members
I started a post 16 days ago about exercise before bed and Afib, see https://healthunlocked.com/afassociation/posts/148706621/have-any-vagal-afibbers-tried-exercising-before-bed I thought I would start a new post here so more people may benefit from my observations which are very interesting. Below

Interatrial Septal Aneurysm (ASA) - anyone with knowledge or experience of this condition or relevant recent research?
I am 75, with 2 years of paroxysmal AF, and looking again at my first Echocardiogram I had in May 2022, I notice there was a finding of an "interatrial septal aneurysm". This finding was mentioned almost in passing, without further emphasis or mention in the Report's Conclusions. However, while such

Are my doctor and Endo correct that my TSH being suppressed is not good and I should lower my levothyroxine!!
I'm desperate for advice and would appreciate help. GP & ENDO say my TSH is suppressed and at my age, over 60, can cause heart issues and brittle bones and need to reduce dose. Endo said the TSH is what they go on, that TSH was important indicator. IS THIS CORRECT? I insisted that every time in past

about 2 years later. I had cause to need an ultrasound on my throat about 30 years ago and this showed I had no thyroid tissue there at all.

Newbie Finding Reassurance
I literally stumbled on this forum today whilst trying to breathe through yet another round of ectopic beats. I have had daily ectopics for 3.5 months now and yes, have been to AE and had paramedics out several times. GP surgery has been very slow in diagnosis and help - but I have managed to arrange

thyroid hormone receptor over sensitivity
hi Basically I had a full thyroidectomy years ago and take 60 micrograms of T3 and 125 milligrams of T4. I’ve been on this a long time and am obese and feel awful though 60mcg t3 and 125 mlg t4 is a massive amount. I did however at 5micrograms of T3 and the 125 of T4 feel great, ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT

Early ablation better at preventing AF progression than drug therapy

Anti-arithmetic meds with Paxil (Paroxetine) - an anxiety med.
Was just wondering if anyone is on or has tried Flecainide or Propafenone while also taking Paxil (Paroxetine)? If so, how did it work out? Side effects or health issues or none at all? Thank you for anyone who cares to reply!
