How Can I Improve Hypo Symptoms without Causing Arrhythmia and Results of Thyroid and Adrenal Tests
Hi, A while ago I posted on here with continuing hypo type symptoms eg fatigue, weight gain, hair loss, coldness, while taking 1 grain NDT daily. (I have Hashimoto's and had a partial thyroidectomy in the 1990s due to Graves). The issue is that every time I try to increase my NDT dose, even by as little

Status Update Post-atrial Cardioäblation:
Had rapid atrial quivering/fibrillation develop in Feb '21 while I was focused on avoiding a second heart attack after having had a major one 9½ years earlier. Got put on meds to see if AFib could be managed that way but worsened to the point that by Aug, my heart was tracked at 244 BPM and I'd collapsed

Flecainide or ablation for atrial fibrillation?
My partner has recently been diagnosed with atrial fibrillation. He has been offered either medication or ablation and he has opted for ablation as he does not want to be on medication for the rest of his life (he is early 40s). The consultant said it is a complicated procedure with risks and 1 in 200

My arrhythmia pattern is intermittent. It seems to build up over a few days then really busy for 10/14 days. Peace in between. Advice please
I’m due to see arrhythmia nurse soon after a successful cardio version in November. Before I see the consultant they’ve insisted I have a 24hr tape. But I’m having 3 things going on arrhythmia wise none of which are continuous. All these are intermittent I have busy rhythm weeks but also quiet weeks

Feeling pressured into ablation!
I met with an EP in South Birmingham today (NHS) referred by my private cardiologist. He was extremely curt, didn’t listen and delighted in telling me that PAF would invariably turn into permanent afib and ablation was my only choice but it probably wouldn’t work first time and came with all sorts of

Iodine
Hi A quick summary, I had a partial thyroidectomy 20+ years ago. Currently take T4 and T3. But I also have to take calcium because of low blood levels. I take seaweed calcium because I’ve read it’s better for bones (I have low bone density), but I’ve just noticed it contains iodine. And I’ve seen

Off beta block and Flec prior to Ablation?
I’m scheduled for my fourth (final?) ablation this time for atrial flutter. The EP asks me to stop taking Metoprolol (50mg 2x) and Flecainide (50mx 2x) four days prior. Additionally to stop amlodipine day of procedure. What are peoples’ experiences who have done this? I’m currently back in NSR due to

Needing reassurance
I had a mini-stroke on Monday with no lasting effects. My problem is i am now scared to death of another one. I am staying in bed just waiting for something to happen. I received excellent treatment at the ER and many tests were run. I am waiting to have a special heart cath done to check for "bubbles

Cocktail of drugs
Just starting taking digoxin along with bisoprolol and perindopril which I was already taking, following my heart going into AF a couple of days ago. I had cardioversion approx 20 months ago. Anyone else taking this cocktail of medicines?

Dilemma with medication
I have just visited a rheumatologist who has put me back on 5mg of prednisolone, to taper 1 mg every 6 weeks. This is after my doctor tapered me too quickly from 15mg to zero within 7 months. The PMR pain is back and I was reluctant to go back on prednisolone as I have had awful side effects (the GP

Newly diagnosed
Hi everyone I've just been diagnosed with Afib following a 24 hour Holter monitor I had done in early December last year. The results only came back last week. Actually, the cardiologist's letter says the trace showed 1. Paroxysmal Afib 2. Atrial flutter 3. 4 short runs of VT which the cardiologist

Lip biopsy
I would pose this question on the Sjogren’s forums but have not had much luck getting replies there and know many of you will have had this procedure done as part of your AI journeys, so hope you don’t mind if I pose it here. That’s a Louis Theroux documentary we need to see: AI journeys. My ENT doc

Melatonin can induce arrhythmia!
ARTICLE
: "Sleep Medications Containing Melatonin can Potentially Induce Ventricular Arrhythmias in Structurally Normal Hearts: A 2-Patient Report" https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/labs/pmc/articles/PMC5642341/ Yikes! As I had reported earlier, I seemed to have miraculously ended my afib inadvertently

Kardia vs. Boots Blood pressure Monitor.
Kardia vs. Boots Blood pressure Monitor. A bit confused here - my Kardia keeps telling me I'm in 'Possible Atrial Fibrillation' recording heart rates above 100bpm whereas my Boots Blood Pressure monitor tells me my heart rate is under 100bpm. I suffer from ectopic beats but the simple a tried method

Asking for a friend -
Good afternoon everyone. I wondered if anyone could recommend an EP in the Deeside/north Wales area. I am trying to help out a friend who is too shy to come on here and ask herself. Diagnosed AFIB and I believe a flutter. But been waiting 8 months to see a cardiologist, so she doesn't really know
