Muscle cramps/pain
I can't remember who posted the information below, however, I was telling my sister about it. She said she had read that when you have cramping, Charlie Horses, muscle tightness, etc. to eat a teaspoon of mustard. Mustard has Tumeric as an ingredient. I have tried it and it has helped my toe cramps.

Is Parkinsons affecting my immune system?
Has anyone else found that even the simplest things like the common cold last longer and make you feel rotten? I have had a cold, courtesy of my grandaughters, for almost 10 days now. I don't feel any better and my tablets are wearing off earlier than usual. Added to this I am having trouble with

To have or to have not
I have had PD (diagnosised) since 2002. In 2004, I was so bad that I taught my self how to write lefthanded, I walked with a cane and my right side had constant tremors. In the summer of 2004, I started having complications from one of the many medications I was taking. So it was determined that I would

I just discovered this, don't know if I'm delusional but it makes me very happy, How's that for a lure?
Most mornings my dog, Olivia, and I go for a walk. We greet neighbors, look for as many varieties of birds as we can find, talk to my daughter in IL and have a pretty good time. Last month I got a new iPhone 4. When I was talking to Robin (the daughter not a bird) she asked me why I didn't use the

Interesting chat
I have just come home after seeing my consultant. During our chat he said that for someone who has had Parkinson's for 13 years I'm relatively in good shape - note relatively. Everything is relative! He is of the opinion that the reason for this is that I went and had myself checked out as soon as a

Was wondering whether other people have experienced gut problems prior and since diagnosis of Parkinsons
A number of people appear to link gut problems with Parkinsons. I think I could be one of these. I have had Helibactor Phlori on and off for a number of years and have been told this can cause trouble with the absorption of meds for Parkinsons. The treatment consists of a course of extremely strong antibiotics

For the baby boomers-Do you think recreational drug use in the 60s.70s contributed to PD?
During the late 1970s, a controversial program sponsored by the US government sprayed paraquat on marijuana fields in Mexico.Since much of this marijuana was subsequently smoked by Americans, the US government's "Paraquat Pot" program stirred much debate. Perhaps in an attempt to deter people from using

Haloperidol - Do you know what this is and if not, you need to...
Hi - I am rather new here and so far, am liking it a lot. I was misdiagnosed with lupus when I was 32 and eventually was correctly diagnosed with YOPD. Looking back, I can see the progression of PD, while thinking it was lupus and why was I not seeing a change while being treated. Tricky diseases.

some benefits(?) of having Parkinsons
This morning I thought of a few "benefits". Feel free to add on if you think of any. I do not need an electric toothbrush I do not need to worry about sobriety tests – I can’t walk a straight line anyway I won’t accidently volunteer for something I don’t want to do as I am already shaking my
