How does thyroid hormone find its way into the brain?
We see lots and lots of thyroid hormone blood test results here. And understandably. The brain is separated from our blood supply by the blood-brain barrier (BBB). This paper talks about an active process of transporters "pumping" thyroid hormones across the BBB - and what fails to work if that process

Greetings all, A friend of mine is studying to become a herbal practitioner and came accross this. It may be good for those who cannot or will not take pharmaceutical medication. Blessed love http://www.immunesupport.com/98wtr002.htm http://www.healthspan.co.uk/articles/supplement-spotlight

Which vitamins?
Hi, I'm just recovering from Christmas anxiety and was wondering if anyone can recommend a daily vitamin to take? I am aware that these will only be suitable for mild cases of anxiety but thought it worth a try while I'm feeling better. I have seen 5-htp, mood food, St. John's, kalms etc . Thank you

Menopause or thyroid-that is the question!
I am 56, hypothyroid for 1 year taking 50mcg Levothyroxine reduced from 75mcg as started with panic attacks and fast heart rate. Having spoken to my GP, she said levels were showing normal after blood result-however they were at the top end of the scale. I decided to reduce to 50mcg and immediately
