Doxil and Avastin
Hi everyone my mother in law is starting Caylex and Avastin and i just needed some input on what to expect from treatment. Her main worries are will she lose her hair, get blisters, extreme nausea, diarrhea, exhaustion? This is her third line treatment stage IV. thank you so much for any feedback

Stable!
Hi all, I saw my consultant yesterday - she tells me that the scan shows that my tumours are still stable, although my CA125 has gone up to 237. I’m to complete my Avastin (only two to go), have another scan in January to see how things are and then tackle any progression then. Depending upon the scan

Some news that has rocked my boat a little today.
Hi there sisters. I'm afraid this is going to be a long and boring post but I hope you can get to the end for me please. I'm usually a half full kinda girl with a good sense of humour but this week has been really difficult. Had the onset of a lot of pain in pelvis and lower back, plus a new lymph

Total fatigue!!! Help
Well ladies I've just finished my 6th carbo/taxol with avastin added in. My ca has tumbled from 2700 to 11 which obviously I am delighted with and in have been found tonnage the brca2 gene (apparently the fall in ca125 so dramatically is something to do with the brca gene being so sensitive to the chemo

Second line treatment - advice please!
Morning all, My diagnosis of PPC Stage 3c was treated with six rounds of carbo/taxol with sub optimal debulking in the middle. I’ve got two treatments of Avastin out of eighteen left to go, but my CA125 has gone up from 33 to 193 in the last few weeks. I’ve had one scan which came back as ‘stable’

Update to confused and in pain
Thank you everyone for all of your replies and your wonderful support. I certainly saw my oncologist with plenty of questions and lots of information. We talked things through and she decided in the end that it was time for me to finish the Avastin treatment since I was experiencing so many side effects

Anyone Here Has Angioid Streaks?
Hi! I was diagnosed about a month ago with angioid streaks bilaterally. The RS who diagnosed me didn’t give me any treatment despite my complaint about wavy lines in left eye. I then got a second opinion one week ago and the RS put me on Avastin right away due to CNV in left eye. I’m confused and worried

Avastin and CA125
Hi, I’m on Avastin Maintenance and noted that my CA125 has gone from 330 to 450. Should I be concerned or are there other reasons for the count to go up?

Confused and in pain. Can anyone help?
Hi everyone. I hope someone can give me some advice.I have had first line chemo (taxol and carboplatin) and I have had 11 of my 18 avastin infusions and am delighted that my Ca125 has dropped to 23 from over 11 000 at the start. Unfortunately the more avastin treatments I have, the worse the side effects

Bleuggggh!
Morning all, I’m off to see my consultant today to find out how much higher my CA125 has gone, but am on the second day of another migraine so I feel ghastly - I’m wondering whether to stop the Avastin as I’m concerned that it may be contributing to the migraine. Any thoughts? Ali x

Sore mouth tip!
I’ve been troubled with a sore mouth and tongue since I started chemo and Avastin and have found cleaning my teeth really unpleasant. Quite by chance I discovered that children’s toothpaste is much less minty and therefore not as painful. I’ve checked the ingredients and they are pretty much the same

Gemcitabine
An update. Last week I went for my first round of Caelyx and had an anaphylactic reaction to it which meant an over night stay in hospital. I had an anaphylactic reaction to Paclitexol when first started on chemo back in March and became allergic to Avastin too. I am now about to start Gemcitabine. It

Apologies if anyone has posted about this
Has anyone seen the article in the paper today about big pharma Novartis and Bayer threatening to sue the NHS because the cancer drug Avastin has been found to help with Macular Degeneration ? The Avastin costs £12 per injection . The other two £742 and £816 per dose . Shocking !

365 Days!
Afternoon one and all. On this day last year I was having my debulking operation - I wasn’t sure I’d be here the next day let alone a year later, but here I am, chemo and Avastin later and feeling pretty good! I’ve been able to do all the things I did before - grannying, horse riding (see above!!), Pilates
