Finally started the short course of oral steroids
Hi everyone! After my asthma started to get worse again 4 days ago, I finally decided to take the oral steroids even though I was terrified of the adverse effects. I was in a situation where nothing else was working, nebs were no longer useful they only lasted one hour and I still had trouble breathing

Two questions about my asthma
Hi, I have been struggling for 3 months with my asthma ever since I had the flu in February. I've already posted something here a couple of weeks ago but as I still don't feel good and no one around me really understands how bad I feel (not even the doctors) I figured talking to people who had the

Bad spell of asthma
My partner has had asthma all his life but has been well controlled as an adult. Since January he has suddenly had problems. He was taking salbutamol & lowest dose seretide. He has now been increased to Seretide 500 & given atrovent inhaler & a nebuliser. How often should he be using the atrovent nebules

Recently diagnosed with asthma and I need help!
I was newly diagnosed with asthma after a pregnancy. Before the diagnosis I had a battery of tests done. PFT showed significant obstructive airway disease. Stress test showed a normal heart. Holter monitor showed some tachycardia. The pulmonologist has me on Flovent and I generally don’t need my rescue

Medical BP conundrum (because having dodgy lungs isn’t enough 😅)
So just got out of hospital but thought I’d post here to see if anyone has ever had anything similar cause I had everyone stumped 😂. Now it’s not just my lungs confusing everyone 😅. Has anyone very suffered from low blood pressure solely when sitting with feet hanging/on the floor? Severe asthma attack

Pred, blood sugars, and changing up meds?
Kind of frustrated today as recent tests have come back normal. On one hand it is good because some of the tests were for cystic fibrosis (there’s still a slight possibility I have the gene mutations but sweat test was normal) and of course I wouldn’t want that, but it would have explained all my issues

Undiagnosed daughter on alot of medication, anyone similar?
So here goes, hello I am Natasha. My daughter is five years old on Sunday. She is un-diagnosed and has carried out lung function tests which have determined she is not asthmatic by consultants now at Derby and Great Ormond Street. She lives on daily, slo-phyllin, montelukas, seretide, steroids in winter

New asthma team
I used to be on this forum under a different pseudonym so hi again! My asthma seemed to be going well; until last week, my last attack was ‘just’ a severe one back in August 2017. Difficult to diagnose and treat asthma, not VCD... 3rd asthma doctor needed
My current asthma doctor has recently decided that most of my coughing and SOB symptoms are attributed to VCD. During my latest URI and flare she told me it was my VCD and to rest and use cough medicine. That didn’t work, I called in two more times- my cough and SOB was constant and she still wouldn’

Revlar Ellipta 92
Hi all, I have been on this 24 hour inhaler for 6 months now. I take it at 6.00pm in the evening. I feel it works for me to a certain extent but around 9.00am I need to take one pyff of Atrovent. This usually does me till I take the Revlar but sometimes I may have to take another puff of Atrovent. I

Calling nebuliser users! RE: Help with choosing a new one
Having just found out that my Aquilon2 nebuliser was recalled in February (due to the manufacturer still marketing and distributing it after the withdrawal of the CE accreditation) I’m looking to buy a new nebuliser compressor. I have the older version of the Omron micro-air for when I’m out and about
