Ongentys

Anybody have experience with Ongentys? Thanks for any info.

Bial has already produced a medication for Parkinson, that is on sale, Ongentys, in 2016.

They would last about 5 hours and I was on 4/day which was good, along with 1 ongentys in the morning or evening. At bad times of stress, not able to sleep etc I'd take more Rytary though. This worked well but I now realize I was often getting overdosed! But I didn't know it.

Hello all, I have been experiencing off times about 3 1/2 hours after taking one C/L, so my MDS suggested one of these three medications as an add on. (I started with Nourianz, which had no effect. I’m wondering about what people’s experiences has been with any of these drugs? Pros and cons? Thanks

Ongentys, and it seemed to sound like a better option than Entacapone, so I ordered a three month supply of it. I’m now two months on Ongentys, and it’s no more effective than Entacapone. I’m kind of glad it doesn’t work, as it’s hard to come by in Canada, and very expensive.

Next Neurologist appt is in December (saw him end of May) when he prescribed the Ongentys. Thanks in advance for any guidance.

So, maybe the question is does Ongentys work only because of (no eating 1 hour before or after).

His walking is bad during this time His medication is as follows 2x Sinemet at 0830/1130/1530/ 1.5 pills at 1830/ half at 2230 Plus Nupatch 2mg/ Ongentys, melatonin and Clonazepam at night ( Sinemet CR does not suit him) Does anyone else have this problem or can anyone give us any ideas as to what

He prescribed Ongentys. I did my DD and was satisfied the benefits far outweighed the risks. I don't like additions to my meds, there are usually/always unpleasant side effects. Ongentys is a COMT inhibitor. I'll leave the mechanisms for how it works to my learned colleagues.

My dyskenesia levels were up there before I started Ongentys, were higher after I started. Dyskenesia has peaked and is on the way down. I have orthostatic hypotension and Ongentys can be flagged for piling on. Keeping well hydrated and lightly saĺt your food was my neurons advice.

•Ongentys (opicapone) is intended to be used as adjunctive therapy with levodopa and other standard Parkinson's disease treatments. Bial anticipates Ongentys will be available across Europe as early as this year.
