Lynparza (Olaparib)
I have a question about
Olaparib
. Is it covered by the NHS? Is it for free or you have to pay for it , or some part of it? I am new to the UK NHS and still don't know how it works.I am waiting to see an oncologist now, after finishing chemo. Is it the oncologist who prescribes it?

Mom's CA is rising sharply
Mom went through chemo , surgery and HIPEC in 2019 and 2020, was short of remission for last two years with
Olaparib
but since Jan 22,her CA is back rising. Latest reading is 56K but she is asymptomatic. When she was diagnosed in 2019, her CA was 161K and ascites was her main symptom.

Avastin and Olaparib
I have been on Avastin since March 2021 and then a combination of Avastin every 3 weeks and
Olaparib
twice a day since February. I have now come to the end of the 18 sessions of Avastin and will be only on
Olaparib
going forward. MY CA125 has consistently been 3 for a year.

2 years up on Olaparib
I am willing to take the risk of AML and stay on it, however this wasnt even raised as an issue at the consultation to come off
Olaparib
. Please, if anyone has any thoughts or ideas or anything I could present Onc with to remain on
Olaparib
I would be so very grateful. Thankyou.

Treatment update-continuing on Jevtana/Carbo combo
I have found that re-challenging
Olaparib
, or using any other PARP, is not a viable option at this point. After much discussion and research, I decided to continue on with the chemo combo.

OLAPARIB 2 year limit
I would like to ask if anyones ONc has allowed them to stay on
OLaparib
past their 2 year maintenance after frontline please? If so, what criteria, I.e. patient choice or still suspicion of disease etc?

Still swollen tummy 10 months after radical surgery, anyone?
I am now on 400mg
Olaparib
. I was always size 10 (only 5ft tall, c. 160cm I think) right up to my 70s and right up to the operation. Now, my tummy still looks five and a half months pregnant, shows no sign of decreasing, no waist at all, and I am deeply into "tiered" dresses.

Losing my resolve and feeling defeated.
Came back in 8 months then Carbo/Doxil from June 2021 to Nov 2021 in remission and on
Olaparib
from Jan until June.....knew by rising CA it was back in May of 2022.....I felt it. CT scan in May did not pick anything up. BUT with pet scan in June found everything!

Olaparib and food
I know the instructions say you can take
Olaparib
with or without food, however I have found that if I don’t take it with food or have food within at least half an hour, I start to heave and have to take a metoclopramide.

Switching Olaparib to Niraparib first line
Hi there lovely people, I would really appreciate your input regarding Niraparib as a first line maintenance treatment after stopping
Olaparib
because of side effects.

Olaparib dose reduction
I've been on
Olaparib
and Avastin for 2 weeks following frontline chemo for OC and already I've been told to stop because my white blood cells are way too low. I was on 600mg
Olaparib
and the nurse said to have a break and then if bloods improve to start again on a lower dose.
