ROS and the effect on Prostate cancer
In many types of tumors including prostate cancer,
melanoma
and breast cancer, the increased metastatic ability of tumor cells is positively related to their intracellular ROS level.

Melanoma survivor....safe to have kids?
I had metastatic malignant
melanoma
in 2008. I had a skin graft and wide excision to remove my lymph nodes in my groin. Since then all PET scans have been clear, but I am wondering if it is safe to get pregnant? Anyone gone through this before? So far, no one has been able to help me.

Day 17 of eating salads etc.
What has scared me besides the word
melanoma
wa the nurse scheduling my surgery said well you will come back one week after the surgery to close up your face. WHAT! I have never heard of such a thing. So maybe she meant to take out stitches.

When first diagnosed
When I was first diagnosed, I wish I was told by BCCA that they would follow me closely because of the huge risks with
Melanoma
! Instead I was told that they didn’t need to do any follow up with me. They just suggested I see my Dermatologist every 6 months.....

Melanoma Brain mets in 2013
So I consider myself as a
Melanoma
Survivor. My diagnosis was in late 2012, and it shortly thereafter metastasized into 4 visible tumors in my brain.

Day after surgery
2 days ago I had a wide excision on my back to remove my
melanoma
, as well as a sentinel lymph node biopsy in my armpit. After the surgery I was rushed out as soon as I woke up and sent home with printed instructions. I haven't heard anything from anyone at the oncologists office since then.

UPDATED: Newly Diagnosed and Lost
My grandmother started her treatment for Stage IV
melanoma
the day before I got the call and our whole family has been focused on this terrible disease. I may scream at the next person who says it's no big deal and I shouldn't be upset.

Possible swollen lymph node in groin
I was diagnosed with stage one
melanoma
on my right lower leg last fall. The dermatologists had told me if I feel something like a small hard lump the size of a pea during my node checks I should be concerned and follow up. I think I feel this on my right side. Could I be wrong?

I found this book at a very difficult time after my
melanoma
diagnosis, and it helped me to define some of the challenges I needed to break down into smaller pieces to deal with one by one.
