Hiccups along the way!
The 8 years leading up to that upheaval was filled with operations for my husband's vascular disease and then
Melanoma
, advanced
melanoma
and then metastatic
melanoma
. If someone had told me at the beginning of my PMR journey to cut out carbs I may have not put on nearly so much weight.

Malignant melanoma advice
This is NOT for me, but for a friend who has just had a facial
melanoma
(?2a) removed and needs a wider excision. I've looked for HU
melanoma
communities and surprised to find none with very many members. Our friend needs advice and a 2nd opinion etc.

Which marker tests can I use for melanoma?
I was diagnosed with
melanoma
a week ago and had a surgery yesterday. I have not chosen a
melanoma
oncologist yet. My husband has prostate cancer, so before I was interested in Advanced Prostate Cancer community, and they helped me a lot. Now I have my own cancer.

I would appreciate if you give some specific advice how to behave if one has
melanoma
. The surgeon said my
melanoma
looks mild; she will know for sure after the biopsy is done. I don't want to wait until my cancer gets more dangerous.

Itâs a common misconception that people with darker skin tones are immune to skin cancer
Melanoma
skin cancer in people with skin of colour: Whilst
melanoma
is less common in people with these skin types, it is unfortunately often associated with greater morbidity and mortality.

Fake it, Donât bake it!
Sunbeds are a group 1 carcinogen and are known to cause all types of skin cancer, including the most deadly form -
melanoma
. Damage is cumulative, irreparable and bad news at any age, but when used, even once at a younger age (under 35) your risk dramatically increases.

AML update
Shockingly, my husband has been diagnosed with a
melanoma
just last week. He is having scans to see if has spread and we are hopeful. It is so hard being apart at the moment.

Salivary gland swelling.
I had a very early stage
melanoma
removed from my leg 2 years ago but the doc said any swelling would appear in my groin not my neck and both docs said it was not sinister and not related to my skin cancer. Can't help but panic each time I feel this lump on my neck Any ideas and thank you.

Had a lil reunion with the lovely AIS Staff and had to get a pic, the lady in red is a

Happy Motherâs Day!
When my mum passed from
melanoma
on New Yearâs Eve 2005, I thought my world had ended. But, over time I began to realise that her passing made way for a hugely important job - one that needed serious attention, focus and an immense amount of passion, dedication and tenacity.
