Persistent migraine frustration
Doc tweaked my blood pressure meds and gave me some
maxalt
and Zofran, and things got better. This was about 2015. 2021 I started having more migraines. I started tracking them... They were weekly or more. My primary doc started me on topiramate. I felt so. Much. Better! That lasted about a year.

Tests, test and more bloody tests!
After years of managing the dreaded lupus/APS migraines really well with
Maxalt
, I have started to suffer with cluster headache (which nothing seems to touch!)

Medications for Migraine
I forgot to ask: Did/does anyone take one of the available migraine medications such as Sumatriptan (also known as Imitrex), Rizatriptan (
Maxalt
), etc. at the onset or during your migraines? I have had a few migraines in the past and the Imitrex was often able to abort the full-on aura, etc.

'Tens' unit
I have been on Amitriptyline since then and Rizatriptan (
Maxalt
), self administered Oxycodone and quite a few ED visits for Morphine etc. In the last 6 months or so migraines got much worse and almost an everyday event. You know how debilitating and crushed it makes you feel.

Louder tinnitus with headache?
Mine seems to ramp up - even before I've taken medication (paracetamol, neurofen or a special migraine 'cure' named
Maxalt
Melt - which really works). After 16 years I'm pretty accepting of my head noise but it does seem to be louder if there is pain in my head as well.

Meningoencephalitis Survivor
I have tried Sandomigran, Endep and
Maxalt
, all to no avail. However, I tried them within the first year and decided to stop all meds after 1 and a half years of contracting. I tried every natural therapy under the sun (botox, acupuncture, cupping, massage, physio, even reformer pilates).

In the process of diagnosis.
I was diagnosis by a Neurologist in 2010 with migraines and was given
Maxalt
5 MG. However, he never tested me nor have me a physical exam. He just sat at his desk and wrote out a prescription. Needless to say,
Maxalt
never worked for me.

Maxalt when to take
I take
Maxalt
which is rizatriptan. The instructions are very clear that the drug should not be taken until the headache starts. However if I wait until then the drug is ineffective.

Menstrual Migraines getting worse
It has been 3 months of supplements and a month of trying
maxalt
quick dissolves with still no relief. This is what I have been experiencing 2-3 days before menses starts, I can feel it in the right base of my skull and behind my right eye. The day before it escalates, quickly and overwhelming.

Migraine hell and Botox
I take
Maxalt
melt or various triptans when desperate but as we all know, nothing really works and you just have to suffer. I'm just about to undergo stress counselling to see if that will help. I work on a newspaper so have quite a stressy job, using a computer all day.

Getting desperate and can't decide what to do...Could iron deficiency and possible hypothyroid cause constant headache?
So I am trying to hold out but really struggling as the only thing that makes any difference is
Maxalt
and i am only meant o take 3 per month. I am scared that I could spend a few weeks trying to get my iron up, then maybe try thyroxine and still end up nowwhere.

Maxalt melt - how much to take??
I am just starting to take
maxalt
melt. It gives approx. 8 hrs relief from migraine symptoms, so to get through the full 24 hrs I would need 3 doses. The leaflet in the pack and NHS advice says take no more than 2 doses in a 24 hr period - so 8 hrs a day without pain relief.

Im new, hashimotos, thyroid went under, dont want to take meds
I dont tolerate medications well at all, I dont take anything for my fibro pain, I only take ibuprofen and
maxalt
for migraines as and when I need them. I really dont need to be off with side effects or suffering mentally any more with dealing with side effects of meds.
