just wondered whether anyone else had lots of spots when they started a gluten free diet?
Diagnosed with cd about 8 weeks ago and have been following gf diet since. 2 Days in very nasty outbreak of spots on head and chest. At this stage eating anything and everything out of Juvela and glutafin sample boxes. Decided to eliminate codex foods and didn't eat them for about 4 weeks. Last week

How do I know if I have coeliac?
Hi i'm new on this website and I'm interested in a few things concerning coeliac and gluten. I started a gluten free diet one week ago because for months after each meal I felt bloated but the kind of feeling that made me feel like I was dying. My gluten free diet seemed to work but now even raw vegetables

Blogging is not something I usually do so if it is boring, well first of all, I am sorry and secondly, feel free to tell me! Well it is 4am and I can;t sleep so I thought I would bore you to sleep if you have the same problem. I can't sleep because of pain in my chest (I have a terminal heart and lung

Does anyone with APS follow a Gluten free diet? Or Paleo diet?
I don't but am considering, the Paleo route, as it appears it could have a positive effect on helping with the APS and the symptoms.

Gluten Content from Barley Malt in Cereals
I was just flicking through the new CUK Food & Drink Directory and found the pages on cereals. There is a note in the section that says: "Some of the breakfast cereals listed contain barley malt extract and you will see this ingredient in the ingredients list and/or the allergen advice box. The

It's hormones!
I'm eating gluten for tests... I'm being told by some people that it could be a psycological thing- that because I think the gluten will make me ill- it does? But! I'm 3 and a half weeks on a gluten diet and my skin feels like paper, I'm sporadically itchy- mostly scalp, legs, stomach and chest.

Opinions please!
"You state that you have not been well on a gluten-free diet, although you were taking gluten-free foods." How would you interpret this statement?

Prof Hughes' December 2011 blog - last blog!
This is my last blog for some months. Our young charity is growing fast. Thanks to the efforts of Lynne Kirwin and Kate Hindle, and their dedicated helpers, we are beginning to see a mushrooming of interest in the syndrome, and some tangible results. For example, the survey carried out

More on Oats.
http://www.csaceliacs.org/InfoonOats.php This I think is very interesting because they say about different strains of oats being more toxic. And what really interests me is that the majority of coeliac seem to want to eat oats. The things that worry me are that the research groups only had around

My experiences following op at Royal Berks Hosp. mid Oct. 2010
Just recently I came across this site and can see that it is useful to compare and contrast our various experiences. I seem to have got off quite lightly compared with some others. My tumour was discovered summer 2010 (very luckily for me) and quite unexpectedly while I was undergoing an endoscopy

More on Gluten Sensitivity research...
In the USA they have been working away to understand more about why some people who don't have full blown Coeliac Disease feel so much better on a gluten free diet. As we all know it is estimated that 1% of the world population has Coeliac Disease; in which the auto-immune system attacks itself if we

Gluten Sensitivity: Fact or Myth?
I've been wanting to write a post on this for a while, so thanks to Dr. Osborne's Glutenology site for his excellent post on this recently which reminded me to do to a quick blog. Do you know of relatives that have similar Coeliac symptoms to you yet their blood tests/ endos have come back negative

How do you overcome constipation on a gluten free diet?
Some Coeliacs find that devoid of a diet of high fibre grains things can slow down and they can develop constipation or piles. Bleeding from the bum after a bowel movement can be sign of this and should always be checked out (note: fresh red blood is normally a good sign as it's normally a pile). So.
