Improved Peak Flow
Harefield have said I’m a good candidate for a
lung
transplant
and once I’ve signed the forms I can go on the list!!!! We all know this is a double edged sword!!! Happy I’m viable but scared about the possible outcome!!! 2 weeks ago I saw my consultant, a locum at my usual hospital, Barnet.

Hello I'm Andrew and have just 'Found' you.
Dear Headway, I attend Headway Essex, following Brain Damage, caused by Vasculitis. This also damaged my Heart and, more severely, my Kidneys. I had a Kidney transplant, in July 2013, after four years on Dialysis- three times a week. I attend Headway Essex, twice a week- Tuesdays & Thursdays. Tuesdays

Bronchiecstasis & pneumonia
After 2 follow up visits (& mri & chest c-rays), was told if lungs don’t return to the health prior to the pneumonia, may have to consider a
lung
transplant
. That sound way too drastic a step. Does anyone have any experience with this situation or heard of this?

Hi All, After two failed rounds of ISCI we had some pretty good improvement in sperm count but motility still wasn't up to scratch. We thought we'd give it one last proper try last month prior to my husbands renal transplant as we aren't sure if the sperm will take a nose dive. I had really mild spotting

Didn't go to plan
Had a consultant appt Thursday very mixed feelings about it. Firstly she said my HP was under control- no fibrosis showing on CT scan and granulomas are small and non worrisome. But then listened to my lungs and heard the crackles. And I feel no real improvement has occurred to my lung's day-to-day performance

CANCER IS BACK....AGAIN
It has been awhile since I posted anything on here. Two years ago I was diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer stage 1. They removed the lower portion of my right lung, cancer was gone. Last year the cancer ( a different type of non-small cell) was found in the left lung. With chemo and radiation

Liver Transplant - Survivors Guilt and Depression
Back in 2018, University of Cambridge Professor Edward Bullmore published his book, “The Inflamed Mind” a radical new approach into the understanding of depression. This concept may sound a little deep for some people. But please try and bear with me. What Prof Edward has discovered is a link between

Asbestos & Small Cell Lung Cancer
My wife was diagnosed with SCLC in March 2019. She is now on Palliative Chemo just to give her a bit of extra time. I was also diagnosed with Enlarged Hilar and Enlarged Mediastinal nodes on my lungs in 2018 and being me I never went back to the hospital. Does anyone know whether these could have been

1sr Appointment with Oncologist
Good evening everyone. Good news - the cancer has not spread beyond my lungs! He thinks Immunotherapy is the best option for me (due to the pneumonia I had in October and complications from an illness I had several years ago). There is a possibility of there forever being an infection lurking, albeit
