Transplant
I would like to talk to someone who has had a lung transplant. I am being considered for the waiting list but I am still unsure whether this is the best thing for me. I am 63 so it would be helpful to talk to someone in my age group.

Reassurance needed, please share your experiences of the NHS
My fit 60 yr old husband was diagnosed with lung cancer last July when he attended a rheumatology appointment due to chronic pain in his wrists, feet and ankles and they did a routine chest x-ray. He then had CT, PET scans and a mediastinoscopy, followed by surgery (not VATS) for an adenocarcinoma, plus

Hi, I had a left diagnostic thyroid lobectomy on wed after an 8mth history of a growing and changing cyst. My FNA's look mostly benign but my consultant wasn't happy about the growth and changes in the 2mth between fna's. My TFT's were within normal range but had increased since first test. I am unsure

Help my dad has been diagnosed with lung cancer
3 weeks ago my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer and on Friday we went to hospital for an oncologist appointment . They have told us that it is inoperable and that chemo is not an option either as he is too old and not fit enough ( he is 79) the only treatment they can offer is palliative radiotherapy

Complaints and comments re late diagnosis and misdiagnosis
I have had a meeting today with the Consultants who misdiagnosed my lung cancer in the early stages. I believe that the Consultants who I met with found the meeting beneficial to help them improve their practice and hopefully prevent the errors that were made with me happening to others. Lung cancer

Hi all I am new to this site. I am not posting about myself but about my 32 year old brother. 9 years ago he had a stem cell transplant to treat leukaemia (I was his donor), which has been in remission ever since. We have been lucky enough to have 9 good years during which time he has worked full time

Went for a risky walk in the woods and got my reward.
After taking a few pics of the bird life that turned up outside my Dads kitchen window I went for a stroll up the lane for my daily exercise. I did the usual route but then I thought it was time to get off the beaten track and take the path up through the woods to an old yew tree I remembered from way

Evening. I don't know if anyone remembers my post in December when at the time I was struggling to recover from Pneumonia I'd had since June. I went to see my locum consultant who was rude and depressed me by being so negative, he did however prescribe Azithromycin which have made a huge difference to
