Stage 1a triple negative breast cancer
I had a
lumpectomy
with sentinel lymph node removal. It turned out to be stage 1a triple negative breast cancer. The tumor was very tiny and my lymph nodes were clear. I also had 20 rounds of radiation treatment. My oncologist told me I didn't need chemotherapy as my type of cancer rarely returns.

Further testing
Lumpectomy
and radiation therapy. Nothing in the lymph. We have now found a 4.3cm cyst/lump thing in one of my adrenal glands. It's not presenting like anything they recognise so I'm now off to a specialist oncology team for more testing and removal. Has anyone else had something like this?

Telling young kids the news
Newly diagnosed and surgery is Thursday (
lumpectomy
). I told my sensitive, anxious 7 year old niece the news today and she really panicked. I told her in a way that a social worker suggested (evidence based). I wonder if anyone else has young ones in their life.

Anastrazole Side Effects Similar to Parathyroid Issues
After having a
lumpectomy
, I was prescribed Anastrozole in January 2019 but had some unpleasant side effects (I thought). Also I had a Dexa scan which showed the beginnings of osteoporosis.

Mammogram or not?
(History of breast cancer, the kind that contained itself, forget the terminology,
lumpectomy
, and no cancer for three years.) Thank you.

Just finished radiotherapy but feel overwhelmed
Lymph node removal showed no spread, so
lumpectomy
and radiotherapy, along with taking Tamoxifen (oncotype result 17, so no chemo). Haven't felt too bad physically, apart from severe cording following surgery, which is now almost cleared up and finished my radiotherapy yesterday.

Reclast infusion
Having recently had a
lumpectomy
for breast cancer, my oncologist is putting me on aromasen. Because aromasen causes bone deterioration, it is also necessary to have reclast infusions. Has anyone any experience with these drugs? Thanks Friends!! Ann Marie

Tamoxifen Side Effects
I've been on Tamoxifen for about 5 months now after a
lumpectomy
and radiation therapy for a Grade 1 Invasive Ductal Carcinoma hormone positive and Her2. And I have a few questions around side effects. The side effects have caught up with me.

Scheduled for SBRT
Five years ago I had a
lumpectomy
for breast cancer and while setting me up for follow up radiation they discovered a mass in my lung which turned out to be adenocarcinoma. Three months after the
lumpectomy
, I had a left upper lobectomy. Now a new mass is in that same lung.

Newcomer - Frederica
I had a
lumpectomy
and changed my lifestyle. I had been over 3 years with no problems. In October of 2019 I started to have pain and swelling in my right breast. I was diagnosed with lymphedema but the swelling kept getting worse and spread into my chest, neck and face.

Anyone with SSC and breast cancer?
Im having a
lumpectomy
and intensive radiotherapy next week- possibly chemo aswell if there are any cells found in my lymph nodes. I know SSC has an increased cancer risk- with breast cancer the most common. Has anyone on here gone through this? How did it affect your Scleroderma ?

Primary vs. Mets and Surgery
They will do scans every three months to make sure there is no progression, but she either may never have surgery, or they may just do a large
lumpectomy
. How does everyone feel about this? What is the standard of care these days?

Sleep - I miss it so much!
Happy Easter- hope everyone is coping with this prolonged isolation- I feel pretty low at present even though I know I should be very grateful that my breast cancer was caught early and that after a
lumpectomy
with clear margins in October I didn’t need chemotherapy.

Seeking wisdom from those of you that have "been there done that"
As I am anticipating surgery, I'm not sure if I should go for a
lumpectomy
(the tumor has shrunk from 7.5cm to 3.5cm so far!) unilateral or bilateral mastectomy? I don't have any lymph node involvement and the PET scan showed no other cancer anywhere in my body.

Post lumpectomy and radiation breast infection
Has anybody developed inflammation and tenderness emanating from their
lumpectomy
scar? I finished radiation treatment 4 months ago and wasn’t expecting it.
