radiation fibrosis and lymphedema
On January 27th I completed 4 weeks of whole breast radiation plus 4 weeks of a radiation boost to the site of my most recent
lumpectomy
. Now three months later I have developed pockets of lymphedema under my arm, and also fibrosis (scar tissue) from the radiation. It is very painful.

Lumpectomy and CKD with eGFR 23%
I am due to have a
lumpectomy
and sentinel lymph node removal using radioactive dye. My eGFR is only 23%. After the operation I am due to have radiation therapy. Has anyone else had this done and do you know if the radiation or dye will lower my eGFR of 23%.

Need Support
When the call came that I have breast cancer for the third time, I was adamant that I wouldn't undergo a mastectomy - unfortunately, the onc surgeon does not think she can do a
lumpectomy
because of a previous
lumpectomy
and the difficulty of providing a blood supply to the remaining tissue.

Recurrent DCIS
Hi all I had a
lumpectomy
and radiotherapy about eight years ago to deal with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS) it has now recurred, what an absolute pain. I’ve had a mammogram and ultrasound and the radiologist thinks I will need surgery. I won’t know for sure until next Wednesday.

Anyone any experience of PMR,and radiotherapy for breast cancer
Hi, Following diagnosis of PMR in February 2022, I now require radiotherapy after
lumpectomy
for lobular cancer. I am especially interested in the level of fatigue experienced during radiotherapy. Thanks Jane

Overwhelmed
Four years ago, when I was eighty-one, |Following the advice of the oncologist, I had six sessions of radiotherapy in weekly doses after a
lumpectomy
but was considered too old for chemo.

Letrozole(Femara) /joint pain threads continued.....
Like the people that have a
lumpectomy
or mastectomy, then are given tamoxifen for 5 years, then they stop. This is mind blowing to me - since most of us were told MBC never goes away, you will take meds for the rest of your life etc etc. The whole thing is a very scary thought now.

New here! Most menopausal oophorectomy?
I'm 5 years post
lumpectomy
for triple negative breast cancer at 46. Was tested and found to be BRCA2 carrier, though no history of cancer in my family. Preventative ovary removal was suggested, but I wanted to avoid surgical menopause so opted to postpone that.

Fluctuating CA 15-3 tumor marker
Lumpectomy
, no rads/ chemo. Oncotype test showed low % recurrence. Feel great. Oncologist wants PET/CT due to increase in markers. Mine seemed to go up and down. Also my alka phosphatase level up to 175. Read Anastrozole could be culprit. Extremely high anxiety til scan done on Wednesday.

Early Stage or In Situ and MBC recurrence
I opened for a Mastectomy and reconstruction as my dr said recurrence rate is less than 2 % as opposed to
lumpectomy
with radiation and approximately 13% recurrence. Seemed like a no brainer to me at 59. They found clusters of cancer cells in one lymph node.

Newbie on the site - Breast Cancer IDC & HER2
I had the
lumpectomy
and node biopsy late January and had my first weekly chemo last week (Taxol weekly + Herceptin every 3 weeks). Is anyone else on the same treatment plan? I’m curious if you found that side effects worsened with each treatment?

Radiation and CLL?
I had my second
lumpectomy
last Friday. Had a reoccurrence after two years. Drs said I now need radiation to my left breast. They removed two more lymph nodes and they were clear for breast cancer but still showed up the CLL. I’m on W&W. Does this mean all lymph nodes if tested would show CLL?

Is discharge from breast something to be concerned about?
I do not have breast cancer, but I'm high risk due to family history and I had a
lumpectomy
last year due to ADH. I'm about to turn 60 and a few weeks ago, I started noticing a small amount of clear discharge from my left breast only.
