Three cheers for Dr Max the ‘mind doctor‘.
However, in about 300,000 patients this doesn’t work and they respond better to another hormone,
liothyronine
or T3. Yet some health trusts have stopped prescribing it, effectively condemning patients to a life of depression no antidepressant can cure. This is all down to cost.

Novel thyroid hormones
If you have problems getting an endocrinologist to accept that you just might need a microgram or two of
liothyronine
, just imagine a future in which there are many more thyroid hormones (and related substances) that have potential!

please, why has my FT3 gone down and FT4 risen since adding T3 to my NDT ?
Hello again, Over 6 weeks ive reduced my NDT down from 1 3/4grain daily (split dose) to 1 5/8grain daily (split dose) adding 2.5mcg Thybon
liothyronine
into the morning dose. My FT3 has gone down and my FT4 has gone up , and i was wondering if anybody could advise me why please?

New Lab Results Including Low Iron
Though the numbers would suggest the former is the better route, I am wondering what the effect of my low iron is on my thyroid hormone levels, the efficacy of my Synthroid and
Liothyronine
, and conversion. If I try 125mcg T4 with 5mcg T3, would increased iron help covert more T4 to T3?

Do I need a prescription... ?
We have recently seen a lot of posts which ask whether a prescription is required for levothyroxine,
liothyronine
and desiccated thyroid in various countries. Indeed, whether they are available at all.

No t3 in Portugal
Stupidly mixed up pills and didn’t take
liothyronine
to Algarve but did have prescriptions in hope of buying some cheaply there. Tried to get in pharmacy Messines but told not available in Portugal. To allow for losing things in translation, went to private hospital in Albufeira.

Drugs firm to pay NHS £8m after competition probe
For newcomers and others who have missed the stories, the CMA is also investigating the pricing of T3 (
liothyronine
) in the UK. It remains to be seen whether the CMA take similar action in that case.

Had enough
Even if I could afford to buy ndt or
liothyronine
Id have to self medicate and pay for all the tests. I hate the way I feel, I have so little energy. I don't sleep well and see nothing but illness abd destitution in the future. If there was a pill to take to end my life, I'd happily take it.

Daily mail 17/7/2019
The cost of T3 (
Liothyronine
) has risen from £4.46 per 28 tabs in 2010 ish to £204.00 for 28 tabs now! The article stated that GPs are telling us T3 doesn't work for us, and won't prescribe it anymore. Fact is GP's are banned from prescribing T3 because of the cost.

Blood results
Hey guys, just have my blood results back, I’m on 100mg Levo + 2x10mg
Liothyronine
, again I feel good in general maybe a bit tired/lazy lately but not sure if this is because of this constant rain in UK or it’s because of my hormone levels😏 last time T4 was 15.2 [12-22] and this time it’s 13.8 [12-22
