Gou Teng helps with my tremors .
Parkinson’s progression can be slowed and symptoms managed with the drugs L-Dopa (
Levodopa
) and Sinemet (Carbidopa). L-Dopa is converted to dopamine in the brain, and Sinemet prevents L-Dopa from being broken down before it reaches the brain.

Cincinnati Clinical trials?
I'm currently taking carbidopa-
levodopa
for cervical dystonia. That appears to be effective. I can now see more drivers on the road. So that's good news! UC wouldn't take me in a trial because I had to see THEIR Movement Specialist.

B-6, Methyl Folate and B-12
Vitamin B-6 has to be taken a few hours after
Levodopa
, RIGHT? Even though he is on
Levodopa
/Carbidopa, I still hold to that "rule". Methyl Folate, B-9, is it safe or no? Vitamin B-12, I have heard a negative about it.

Stress and anxiety in Parkinson's - my 2 pennies worth
In response to a spam post about stress causing Parkinson's I started this answer which became too long winded as a response. I don't think stress causes Parkinson's as claimed (in fact I think it's a nonsense idea) but definitely stress causes problems in Parkinson's. Alongside the fact that stress

Improving the Bio-availability of Levodopa
In the treatment of Parkinson’s disease, the DDC enzyme inhibitor Carbidopa, is co-administered with
Levodopa
, and a COMT enzyme inhibitor is also available to improve the bio-availability of
Levodopa
. What has this to do with Parkinson’s disease?

Matcha green tea
Hi everyone! For those of you mixing green tea with your mucuna I attached a link for Japanese organically-grown matcha green tea. With matcha you drink the entire ground up leaf it has more egcg in it then the steeping kind. Nutrivitashop sells the l-dopa as well as the green tea. I guess my point is

Update
I quickly augmented on carbidopa/
levodopa
but had some success using tramadol and inhaling 😀 but only if I was able to take tramadol and smoke right at the onset. Ten minutes into the episode and it was too late for those medications to have an effect.

Not CBD after all
In February we started hubby on Carbadopa-
levodopa
(Dopamine drug) and he responded very well. He has his gait back! Walks almost normal and is just a little bit off balance. Without the dopamine drug he was in a wheelchair, unable to move his right leg and right arm.

L Dopa, the drug which makes Parkinson's worse?
What do you think? From my negative experience of Sinemet, I surmise that it brings some initial improvement in movement issues along with some devastating side effects. It wears off, so more is taken, and after a while dyskinesias can occur solely because of the drug. Also 'on - off' can occur due to

Cerebrospinal fluid levels of thiamine in patients with Parkinson's disease. - levodopa effect.
PD patients under

Sleeping like a baby...
He is on
Levodopa
/carbidopa with endicopone, but that's it. He has tried modafinil, concerta and caffeine pills all under neuro supervision, none do much, just make his tremor worse. He is trying to work part time, but I'm not sure this is do-able.

current neurologist exam
My neurologist said carbidopa
levodopa
is not useful with tremors. He said its function is to get you moving. I am trying to post today's pull test video. Watch for it.

Suggestions anyone?
My doctor is reluctant to put me on
levodopa
because I am only 53. Any suggestions btw I already take B1. The B1 helps but not enough and when I increased it, it worsened the tremor. Need help. I am seeing my doctor tomorrow and need some suggestions as to what to ask him.

Inhaled levidopa to reduce “off” time episodes.
Here’s a quote, “The FDA recently approved Inbrija, an inhaled
levodopa
powder, for patients who experience “off” episodes. This is the first Parkinson’s therapy directly funded by the Foundation to receive regulatory approval. “ How cool is that? The question is, has anyone tried it?
