Weaning Woes
I am 60 with MDD and currently trying to wean off of Effexor XR 150 mg (have been on this for 20 years) and having a horrible time going off. I would have petit mal seizures in the past if off for 48 hours. I moved out of the country and my new Psychiatrist is trying to help wean me off to try a different

Quillivant XR started for 6 yr old
Our 6 yr old daughter (ADHD A/ASD level 1) started Quillivant XR liquid last week. This is her second trial run with a stimulant. She start Focalin short acting 1 month ago, and was complaining that she was tired, unable to remember things, and didn't feel normal. We were giving it twice daily. With

Experimenting with Adderall XR
Hello, I recently was diagnosed with ADHD (at 39!) not long after my soon to be 6-yr-old son (though he is equally presenting as inattentive and impulsive.) He is taking Guanfacine now, and it has helped a lot with impulsivity, but not necessarily with inattentiveness. On the other hand, I have been

Changing meds: Strattera to Wellbutrin
TL;DR - I asked my doctor to do a trial of treatment with bupropion (Wellbutrin). I'm hoping that it treats my Inattentive traits as well as atomoxetine (Strattera) and that it also helps me with motivation. I've been on generic Strattera (atomoxetine) for three years. It helps with most of my Inattentive

Therapy tomorrow, but I feel like talking today
I've been in a state of anxiety for the past two weeks or so. I have an appointment with a therapist tomorrow, but I feel like talking today. I’ve been on Effexor XR for almost 20 years and was in the process of tapering off, but due to these anxiety issues those plans are on hold. I’m not looking

Guanfacine ER 1 mg reviews
My son has been diagnosed with adhd a couple years back. He was taking Adderall XR but it wasn’t the right fit for my son. He is now 10 and we are starting with medication again along with therapy to help. My question is; can anyone share their child’s experience with me on this specific type of medication

Adderall XR: Increase dosage?
I have an upcoming psych visit and I’m thinking of asking my prescriber to up my dosage. I’m currently on Adderall XR 15 mg which is working better than the other drugs I’ve tried. I’m still having issues with focus, decision making, knowing what the steps are in a project and memory. Here’s an example

Focalin comedown
My son (11) has been on Focalin XR for about 2 months (5mg the first month - no effect, and now 10mg). We've noticed that around 7pm, he often can get super down and sad. It's not every night, but it's at least a couple times a week. Sometimes he can identify something bothering him, but other times

Side effects of Adderall XR
Has anyone else developed a sore throat or cough on Adderall XR? If so does regular Adderall have the same effect. I’ve recently (about 4-5 months ago) started ADHD meds after being off for about 8 years. I suffer from EDS (excessive daytime sleepiness) in addition to ADHD of the primarily inattentive

Meds for DMDD & ADHD
My son was recently diagnosed with DMDD along with his ADHD last week. I was wondering if any parents here have their kids on any medications for both disorders? So far his psychiatrist only prescribed him with Quillivant XR. we haven’t started medicating him yet because we’re waiting for authorization

What To Do Next?
Hi Friends, First post here, although I've come back to this forum a few times. I'm at a spot where, even though I know it's untrue, I feel like I'm experiencing anxiety like no one has ever experienced it before (we all know the lonely feeling). I've been dealing with this for about a year an a half

Exhausted..
Good morning, New member & I have seen more helpful information here than I’ve been able to find anywhere else! To start, my son is 6 and we have started the medication journey & it’s been nothing short of eventful. Focalin XR low dose increased to 15 mg and then 5 mg at lunch, worked for a week and

Irritability in the evenings
I have always had a hard time transitioning from work to home. Even before I had kids, I would have to decompress before I could even talk to my husband. With kids, it’s worse because I just have to jump into being with them, making dinner, laundry etc. I have built in a little break for myself that

New ADHD diagnosis for my 6 year old girl
My little girl is newly diagnosed with ADHD though I’m not that shocked. The past year of school has been incredibly challenging: hitting the teacher, explosive emotions, easily frustrated, highly impulsive. This school year started and after she headbutted the floor, I decided to consult a doctor. The

What dose of adderall is your child on?
Hi everyone! My son is 7 years old and up to 15mg of Adderall XR. I don’t see it working much anymore and the next increase will be 20mg. If your kid is around the same age and on Adderall, please share their milligram/dosing. Or did your kid not have the best results on it and switch to another stimulant

Adderall XR 20mg
I was finally diagnosed after a lifetime of feeling unmotivated and not like a normal person. I’m 35.. My doctor wanted to put me on Vyvance to help with weight loss as well, but my insurance won’t cover it until I try other alternatives. So he recommended Adderall XR 20mg. Today was my first day. I
