First Post - Efficacy of my Thyroid Treatment
I'm interested in other subscribers' views relating to the efficacy of my thyroid treatment. I am lucky enough to have an excellent, open-minded, endocrinologist whom I have consulted over the last five years and who has helped me considerably. I have been on NDT / NDT Combo for all of that time and

Cytomel or NDT
Cytomel or NDT? I was prescribed 25mcg of cytomel by a previous functional doctor. Since I am not using this doctor anymore, I wondered if NDT is a better replacement of cytomel? Also, if metavive is the best form of NDT? And finally, if there was a 1:1 ratio between the dosage of cytomel and metavive

I’m on 2 1/4 grains of NDT my recent blood test showed my t3 just over range and I haven’t been feeling good. With NDT can you reduce 1/4 every other day or do you have to have the same amount of NDT each day?

Plummeting TSH with low free T4
Hello, What a riddle it all is. I have have had Hashimotos for 10 years and have always been on NDT. Most of the time without significant symptoms. My free t4 remained low, mid range t3 and normal tsh. My antibodies have reduced over the years too from 800 down to 200. Suddenly lately I have been experiencing

Got switched from NDT to synthetic
Hi everyone I hope you’re all keeping safe and nourished in these strange times. My endo just switched me from NDT to Eltroxin. I was on Eltroxin when I first got diagnosed with Hashi’s in 2016. Then Euthyrox. Then NDT from 2017 and started to do better. Was diagnosed with a conversion problem back

Does NDT affect blood sugar level?
I bought a blood glucose monitor a few weeks ago and have been checking my blood sugar level throughout the day. I take my meds at night (175mcg T4 & 0.75 Grains Erfa) and first thing in the morning my blood sugar is 3.6 - 3.8mmol/l. I also tried taking my Levo at night and NDT first thing in morning

Switching to NDT (Efra) - good idea?
I’ve been in levothyroxine since 2008 and never felt great - bad days outnumbered good, one illness after another, etc etc. I’ve heard that people can feel better from taking NDT so I’ve found an Endo who will prescribe me Efra. He’s a very established Endo so I feel confident in his expertise. I’m

How can I get Actavis in the US
I have a very challenging problem and I was hoping for some suggestions. I am a US citizen, living in the States. I have discovered that I can't tolerate the four brands of Levo that are sold here. (Two cause anxiety, the other two cause extreme stomach upset.) I am very sensitive. I also wasn't

Interesting podcast
This interview with endochrinologist Dr. Brittany Henderson is interesting and well worth listening to. One point she makes is that suppressed TSH when taking NDT can be corrected by changing the timing of the dosage. She says that TSH, although a pituitary hormone responding to thyroid hormone levels

Are you on NDT and having trouble obtaining it?
If you are taking NDT and are worried about low stocks, you might find this interesting. Mary Shomon, thyroid health advocate, has created a new website called The Natural Thyroid Guide Site where you can find out why she thinks NDT is having a hard time - https://tinyurl.com/y69powss #naturaldesiccatedthyroid

Self medicating NDT - More Confused than ever!
I've just started self medicating with NDT as I've been getting nowhere with Drs for the last few years and increasingly feeling like crap (whilst my TSH continues to go up and body temps down!). I'd be grateful for any insight into the following: 1. How do you go about increasing the dosage? Is there

Private endocrinologist who prescribe NDT
Hi all, After being promoted by a post I saw on here, I have contacted my health insurance through work and they have said they will send me for a consultation with a private endo. I feel like I have won the lottery! Now the question is, can anyone recommend an endo who is likely to be covered by the

Is my iron okay for NDT?
Is my iron panel okay for attempting to start NDT? My vit D is 60 and B12 is 488 so I think they are fine.

NDT and Thyroid - Where can I go from here?
After years of suffering with various "mystery" symptoms (fatigue, headaches, dizziness/brain fog), I'm keen to start trying some NDT as my Dr simply won't entertain thyroid as an issue (even though I have a strong family history and very low body temps). Ideally I'd like to work with a practitioner,

Latest NDT availability info
This seems to be the big question right now for those of us who seek NDT. Anyone have reliable info on the latest status of availability of NDT and current suppliers, esp without a prescription? Thanks to all.
