Diagnosed, treated but still unwell
Hello I finally got diagnosed with hypo 10 months ago - armed with knowledge and advice from this forum. My question: I started on Levo, which didn't suit me at all. Since Oct 2021 have been taking Erfa NDT 2 tablets (1 grain) twice daily. Last (24/1/22) blood test was: TSH 1.88 (0.27-4.2) T3 4.8 (3.1

Enlarged thyroid from medication?
I've been on medication since April 2021, different options were trialled, none available on the NHS seem to work. (I seemed to be on a good track with NDT but again not available on NHS) I don't have hashimoto just a conversion issue for which I am.prescribed liothyronine. Most recently my dosage

Has anyone switched from NDT to T3?
Hi all, Following on from my previous post my endo has said if I don't improve on my current dose he will switch me to T3. I guess my biggest worry is that at the moment I only feel about 65% better... And I'm aiming for 80% but I don't know if that's realistic. It feels risky switching up my medication

NDT sourcing in Germany
Hello, I have been on 2 grains of Thiroyd (NDT) and feeling good for a few years, but now it seems to have wanished from the Thailand online stores. I've been back on Levo for almost two years now and the hypo symptoms have come back with vengeance. Weight gain, water retention, tiredness, etc. Does

Sourcing NDT in the UK
Hello all, I am having difficulty sourcing NDT in the UK and I cannot get a prescription on the NHS. I used to purchase Thyroid-s. Can anyone please point me to a reputable online supplier? Thanks x

1/4 Grain Make That Much Difference
For those on NDT, do you find 1/4 grain to make a big difference one way or the other? I am trying to find my sweetspot and it feels like there is a huge difference in my mood and anxiety level between 1 1/4 grain and 1 1/2 grain of NP Thyroid. Is that possible? I know I must have the T3 and can feel

Help with private blood test
So here are my results from a few weeks ago. I tested in the morning only 9 hours after my NDT dose at 10.30pm, but held off on my morning dose until after the test. I know it should be 12 hours. I take 1 Thyroid S before bed, and another when I wake up. Since starting this dose 5 months ago my hair

New GP agreed to trial extra 25 mcg of T4 - advice urgently needed please (heart palpitations, sweating but good digestion?)
Hello everyone, I hope you're all in good health. Thank you all so much for your advice, guidance and help so far it is so heartfelt! Following on from my previous post, I spoke with my GP on the 4th of March, and she (not my regular GP) advised that she would consider increasing my levothyroxine only

Big slumps between T3 doses that I didn't get on NDT
In January 2021 I came forward to my GP and said I was self-medicating with NDT under supervision (Dr P originally, then I managed via blood tests myself) for the past six years, but would like to return to 'approved' T4 therapy and not be 'out in the cold'. They have treated me appallingly since, that

A positive post.
Hello everyone, I think I am ready to post some outcomes of my Armour + Levo treatment. I am still not quite there, but I have come a long way and need to write this to state that there is hope, that we can persevere almost anything and document improvements. I remember times only a few months ago

How slow and how long?
My back story, which some of you might recall; In 1994 prescribed Cytomel by my then psychiatrist, as I had depression, was cold, constipated, weight gain and erectile dysfunction. With the first 25 mcg tablet, my body came back to life. I was on it for 11 or 12 years, then, it seemed to stop working

Advice re inconsistent and above range FT4 please.
Apologies in advance for long post. GP made me have annual review blood test 21/12/21. Test was done at 8.20am, 24 hours after last dose of levo (150 mcg) and fasting apart from water. Please note, my TSH always appears suppressed because I take Metformin. TSH 0.01mu/L (0.35 - 4.94)

Iodine effects on thyroid levels??
i take NDT and am wondering whether the iodine in Dried Wakame Seaweed could affect my thyroid levels? i've been eating around 4 grams (around a 1/3 Cup) with many dinners in a row, and it's just occurred to me the iodine might be a problem?????? Does anyone know?

What is going on?
Hi all, So I've been on NDT and levo for awhile now and I still feel crap. (Although it must be said that I can't understate how much better I feel on NDT compared with just levo!) I got my latest bloods back yesterday and I sobbed and sobbed when I saw them. I have spent so long holding onto hope that

NDT prescription
I’ve found a private thyroid doctor but they charge £30 just for a prescription for NDT that doesn’t include the medication. Is that normal/expensive?

Ndt and sertraline
Hi All, I'm not actually new here, but got locked out of my account so had to create a new one 🤦♀️ Anyway, I've been prescribed sertraline and propranolol for anxiety. I have Hashimotos, take thyroid s and have had stable/optimal bloods for years now. My concern is that the anxiety meds may cause

I am having hypothyroid symptoms which are becoming worse. Tinnitus, tendinopathy, loss of muscle/strength, brain fog, weight gain, osteo arthritis, dry brittle hair, loss of body hair, air hunger, tiredness, don't have the energy output to walk fast for long etc. My results in August 2021 are - CRP

Hi everyone Just over 6 weeks ago, I stopped my T3 and just continued with thyroxine. 100 mcg day one and day two, 125 mcg day three, and then the cycle repeats. Then 3 weeks ago, I caught covid. Just before getting it, I was feeling tired and have been incredibly tired ever since. I just wondered

Advice on blood tests appreciated!
Hi guys, just had my Medicheck results back. TSH 0.1 (0.27-4.2) Free T3 4.89 (3.1-6.8) Free T4 11.3 (12-22) Any advice on how to adjust my medication etc - Free T4 is bit too low isn't it? I'm currently on 2 grain NDT and have been for well over a year. Inflammation levels are low, antibodies low
