my ferritin has just come back as 28 (5-204) I think this is my iron store so it’s clearly deficient. I’ve struggled with anaemia since I was about 18 (maybe before but no cause before then for a blood test it was discovered when I became a donor) No one has ever given me a reason for this! And I

Help with test results - haemochromatosis with iron deficiency?
A few years ago I regularly had blood tests which showed high iron levels so my doc suspected Haemochromatosis. I had the genetic testing which showed I had the gene mutation. I used to get blood drawn to treat it and bring down my iron levels. However, recently I had blood tests which showed low ferritin

Advice needed on iron levels (plus an update on Targinact)
Hi everyone, I posted recently asking for advice about Targinact, which I started taking on 10 January. I had such an extreme and horrible reaction that I stopped taking it 15 days later. Given my dose was only 5/2.5mg daily, I haven't had any withdrawal issues other than feeling very tired and depressed

Any thoughts on my friend's thyroid results, please?
Hello all, I was wondering if any more knowledgeable folks had any ideas about what could be going on with my friend's thyroid results? They seem crazy - I don't understand how she can have a reasonably "normal" TSH level with such unbelievably low FT4 and FT3. She's a 41 year-old female, does not

My Haemoglobin from back end last year to a month ago was between 116 and 121. Hematocrit was 41%. Haematologist wouldn't give me iron tablets as last time hematocrit jumped uo so fast apparently put me at risk of a stroke. Last blood test a month ago Haemoglobin 132 and Hematocrit 47%. Why it jumped

doctor who treats with i/v iron first?
Dear all, I remember one of the members mentioning here a doctor who uses i/v iron as first-line treatment, can you please remind me their name? Would be interesting to try to arrange a consultation with them or maybe read their papers if any are available online. Thank you to everyone who provides information

So for 8 years now my b12/folate has come back low ( e.g - b12 183 and folate 2.2 was my last one last September and it has been them sort of levels for quite a few years. I’ve had another blood test recently and my levels have gone up folate 6.5 and b12 217 (which I know is still low but I just can

Comprehensive supplements list (when to take and with what)? Not just for PD.
Note that I'm NOT not looking for a PD-specific list. I want something I can use as a general guide for my husband and kids as well. Has anyone found a really comprehensive list showing when/how to take supplements (just vitamins and minerals, not herbals, etc.)? I've looked and looked, but everything

Beta blockers
I'm 68, female with NASH/ Cirrhosis which is compensated. I have recently been prescribed 1.25 mg of Bisoprolol Fumarate (beta blocker) but I'm so anxious about taking it as my GP seemed unsure about any effect on my liver. I was wondering if any members take beta blockers with no ill effects? I'm also

Meds Review.
Had a meds review yesterday with the very helpful Pharmacist attached to our GP surgery. I have spoken to him before when he switched me from lansaprozole to famotidine. He even asked me how I was getting on with that yesterday.Went through all my issues which may be linked to my meds: tiredness, fatigue

Hi , after trying very hard to navigate depression without drugs I have now just started Trazodone . Taking Gabapentin successfully, only mild RL . Had every dopamine drug for many years and now completely free of them for at least 6 months . My question is although Trazodone is deemed not to affect
