Iressa for BAC but what about Bone Pain?
My mom has been on
Iressa
(gefitnib) since JUNE 2013. She started this medication just before my wedding. We noticed a huge change in her energy level and overall well being within the week that she started using it.

Are you EGFR+?
This is to help us make a submission to the Scottish Medicines Consortium regarding the drug gefitinib (
Iressa
). At present this drug and erlotinib (tarceva) are used to treat people with EGFR+ tumours in England and Wales. In Scotland on erlotinib is currently licensed.

He'd been on

for 7 months and with it shrinking the tumours he was able to get back to doing the work he loved. The

stopped working in May and his health deteriorated gradually from then. This site was a huge encouragement to us both, sharing our journey and experiences with others.

What happen if one is testing EGFR negative? Is there still hope in life without these targetted therapies?
Hi there, has anyone taken
Iressa
which was subsequently proven ineffective from CT scan after the first cycle i.e. the tumor continues to grow instead of shrinking. Could this be due to EGFR negative and is a second biopsy needed?

Help about proposed treatment for NSC Lung Cancer
I am not positive for
Iressa
. My question is : Is the above the only treatment now available for people with this type & stage of lung cancer? Are there any others with my diagnosis that have been offered anything different?

NICE decision on access to Gefitinib(Iressa) and Erlotinib (Tarceva).
We are pleased to see NICE's announcement today on second line treatment for non small cell lung cancer using Gefitinib (
Iressa
) and Erlotinib (Tarceva). Second line treatment is when someone needs further treatment after chemotherapy because their cancer has progressed.

Are you currently on Iressa? Would you be willing to talk about your experience on camera?
We have a couple of opportunities for filming. We have a request from a pharmaceutical company who want to interview someone who has experience of this treatment. It would be filmed in south west London and an honorarium, or payment for your time and expenses could be made. The film is for internal use

Chemotherapy & Joint Stiffness
After having been on
Iressa
for 7 months, I have now switched to a Carboplatin/Alimta regime every 3 weeks. Although I had a little bit of joint stiffness in my fingers prior to Chemo, which I put down to advancing years, it has become really bad since going onto to the IV chemo.
