I have a question about iodine as it is controversial
my iodine showed a little low such as 39 with a range of (52-109). Would that cause symptoms of weak and shaky, dizzy and off balance? I don't think i was using much salt back then as it was hurting my stomach so it is probably higher now as I am using light salt.

Eight years battling Graves’ disease and batting off endocrinologists willing me to have RAI or thyroidectomy neither of which I want as I don’t have any faith these options will cure the Graves’ disease but I’m back to endocrine on Thursday and I know they will pressure me to give them a difinative

Blood test results from medichecks
Hi. I’ve just received results from medichecks and would really appreciate any guidance with results. I had thyroid check ultravit rT3. Medical history: I have Graves’ disease - antibodies positive and >40 (range 0.5-1.0). I had RAI (2014) became hypothyroid and take 150 mcg levothyroxine daily.

Iodine test
Can anyone recommend the best test for iodine level? I note that 3 months ago, Humanbean suggested a (non-loading) urine test from Genova which costs £71 https://www.gdx.net/uk/product/urine-iodine. However, 2 months ago, another forum member stated that a naturopath had suggested a urine iodine test

Can’t find a good consultant
Hi everyone, I’m a 48 year old woman desperate for some answers. I started off with an overactive thyroid in 2012. Two shots at radio iodine treatment have rendered me hypo. I’ve reduced my thyroxine from 150mcg to 50mcg over the last few years. My GP is now telling me i’m Within normal range but I feel

Treating Graves Disease naturally
Good afternoon all, I'm new here and have joined after doing a mass amount of internet trawling the past few days. I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in Feb 2015 and I'm sure like everyone else here it's been a real struggle adapting to life with this disease. I am currently on my second round of Carbimazole

Interesting study about early intervention for Graves Disease
I am posting a link to this study for those with Graves who are candidates for either RAI or TT. You may find it worth reading. Sending positive thoughts for your health to all. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/28681142

Not feeling well after RAI
Last Wednesday I took the glowing RAIpill to remove my thyroid. It’s now Monday and I am still feeling nauseous and can’t tollerate heat. I am on beta blockers but my heart rate is still 100bpm average. How long does it take for your thyroid to shrink? How long is it until you feel ok again? Should I

53y female, Prenatal vit with my 11am lunch to try to thicken my thinning hair, T3/6am (hr before breakfast), T3/3pm, gyno Rx progestin only
Long title but just joined. My first post here. Trying to get answers! My recent schedule has been: 6am - liothyronine 25mcg pills (T3 or Cytomel) 7 am - breakfast (Dr. Axe, bone broth protein shake and scoop of Collagen Peptides mixed with coconut milk or almond milk) I see the drink provides 5 percent

Interpretation of results
I had my thyroid gland removed 18 years ago due to papilliary thyca and have had various issues over the years, most, possibly due to taking highish doses of levo. I have recently had a raft of blood tests and wondered if I could post them for some advice. I also wondered about the iodine issue and if

Screening & too much bad news
This is a continuation of yesterday's post: "68 Ga-PSMA & too much bad news" The concensus seems to be that men want to hear bad news. Which is what one would expect from men who might have died by now had they not been screened for PCa. But I have to defend my GP who no longer automatically does once-routine

Should I ask for PA test?
I’m not sure what to do. In 2016 I had low b12 reading and doc advised loading doses. I have recently had gastro issues and had an endoscopy which looked normal apart from slightly lax valve. I was diagnosed with Graves in 2003 treated with RAI in 2005. I’m worried about PA as Endocrinologist wrote

RAI
Hi all, next Tuesday I am going for an uptake test for RAI. Just wondering about the length of time you need to be in isolation for afterward. How have you felt after having RAI? I have been suffering with Graves for twelve months and the Carbimazole is not working. I have a nodule and goitre and antibodies

Primary therapy of Graves' disease and cardiovascular morbidity and mortality: a linked-record cohort study
The importance of "early and effective control of hyperthyroidism" is probably of no surprise. Just good that it is in black and white. The difficulty I have is the "early definitive treatment with radioiodine". In the limited abstract, I cannot see anything which explains the apparent recommendation
