Interferon
My hematologist decided to try interferon. Starting it soon kind of scared cause I heard it causes depression and anxiety, also flu like symptoms. Anyone else experienced anything like that while on interferon?

Is it time for interferon in low-risk patients with polycythaemia vera?
« The use of interferon for the treatment of myeloproliferative neoplasms has a long tradition. Pioneering studies were done by Silver and Gisslinger in the late 1980s. 1 , 2 They showed interferon alfa (then conventional interferon alfa) to be effective in controlling erythrocytosis, thrombocytosis

Teeth
Hi, Has anyone experience or knowledge concerning any impact on teeth for MF patients? One of my molars has just cracked and needs removing. I’m 40yo and started Peg. Interferon 6 months ago after being dx with secondary MF. I’ve never had any dental problems before. Was wondering if I can blame my

Confirmation please
Hi Mazcd Could you please put everyone’s minds at rest and clarify via consultants, if vaccines live or not , can be administered if you are on peg interferon or other medications for MPNs. This would very much be appreciated. Many thanks💐

If I had known then, how would I have lived my life differently?
Just thinking out loud here... Recently, I had the realization that my MS symptoms (foot drop) began @ 1987 rather than when I was diagnosed in 2009. I did see a neurologist at the time but MS wasn’t even considered. There were 3 treatment options in 2009 (2 interferons and copaxone). There were essentially

Sharps Bin
I have a sharps bin for my Interferon needles, it's getting full, so I ring my local surgery to see if they can dispose, NO. Rang the pharmacy, NO They suggested I ring the local council, which I did, they will only pick up when I have 4 sharp bins full, that could take 4 years.. What does everyone

Genetic clue to severe Covid: “It is part of the system that makes your immune cells more angry, and more inflammatory”...sound like lupus ?
Covid research will help with SLE and autoimmunity, without a shadow of a doubt! :) 'Two other recent studies published in the journal Science have also implicated interferon in Covid cases, through both genetic mutations and an autoimmune disorder that affects its production.' https://www.bbc.co.uk

Pegasys and Blood Pressure Medication
I’ve been put on low dose Ramipril ( an ACE inhibitor ) by my GP nurse practitioner for borderline hypertension. I am also on a high dose 180mcg Pegasys and aspirin for ET. I inquired about drug interaction and she seemed to think it was ok, but on taking my first tablet of Ramipril, I’ve felt awful

Interferon in Polycythemia Vera (PV) Yields Improved Myelofibrosis-Free and Overall Survival

Starting meds & worried
Hi all. Had phone call with doc yesterday & platelets are now over the 1500 mark (1569) so I need to start medication. I’m only 41 with 2 young kids so I’m feeling very emotional. I’ve got the CAL-R mutation. Interferon by injection is looking most likely but I’m waiting for face to face appointment

The type I interferons (interferon-α and interferon-β) have been tested
