Shingles and essential thrombocythemia

Has anyone experienced shingles while on Pegasys interferon for essential thrombocythemia ? X

I had it when I started Ruxolitinib. All I can say I have sympathy for anyone who experiences shingles. Was one of the most painful experiences of my life.

I have not had shingles Becky, but because I am over70, I was told to go to my doctors for a shingles vaccine. Fortunately, I had an appointment with my haematologist the same week and took the letter to ask if it was ok to have it. He was horrified. He said that Shingles is a live vaccine and I absolutely could not have it. I am ET JAK 2 +.

I had the shingles vaccine. Shingrix It’s given in two doses - two months apart

I had no side effects it is not a live vaccine

The old shingles vaccine Zostavax is live.

But Shingrix is fine - it’s approved for the over 50s

Hello, thanks for your reply.I had a horrible reaction to the flue vaccine three years ago. My arm swelled to more than twice the size all the way to my fingers. I will not be having any more vaccines.

I do believe in personal choice and the untested vaccines that the pharmaceutical companies are producing for covid are not for me.

If these vaccines are safe, I have two questions.

1) Why do the Pharmaceutical Companies demand immunity from prosecution.?

The tax payer in the UK is now paying damages for narcolepsy from the failed Swine Flu Vaccine. The producers of these failed vaccines are getting away with it.

2) Why are the government refusing to tell us what is in these vaccines. Surely we have a right to know, especially as they are planning to curtail our travel unless we agree to have the vaccine. Do some of these vaccines contain parts from aborted fortunes?

I would very much appreciate a scientific answer to these questions.
