Lactose intolerance advice and absorption issues
I am taking my thyroxine at 7.30 am and 2 hours before breakfast with no tea before. Some days I feel I am absorbing the hormone but it doesn’t last, and I had a day recently when I had energy and wellness, but it only lasted an hour followed by intense hunger (after a meal) and then feeling like I

Vitamin A,D,E,K deficiency..
After gall bladder surgery my Doctors in India recommended no vitamin supplements . Read somewhere about possible fat soluble Vitamin deficiency after gall bladder removal. Is it safe to take Vitamin D with Vit K2 as MK7 as a supplement ?. Is it true that Vitamin D , if taken alone would cause Calcium

My first Dexascan
I had my first dexascan yesterday and am told that I have osteoporosis in my spine. Z score L1-L4 = -3.5 and T score -1.7. I am currently on 5mg as per recent posts and am now thinking I must try for 4.5. I have been prescribed vit D3 with calcium in the form of the i Cal D3 which is not unpleasant

I have osteoporosis and I took Fosamax for a while and then lost 6 teeth! I stopped taking it a while ago, but my back is giving me grief now. I am taking calcium and Vitamin D, but I need to find out whether there are any alternatives to alendronic acid.

Getting GP on board
Slightly frustrating GP appointment. Recent NHS bloods showed TSH only just within the lab range (4.24) but higher than a few years ago, T4 at 11.9 but within range. I sent my Medichecks results through beforehand showing a TSH of 6.1 and antibodies >200. She didn't exactly dismiss them but queried

Blood tests ahead of endo appt
NHS referral still pending ("on the waiting list") so am paying to see one of the consultants privately in the mean time. Latest blood test results from Wednesday last week (all done before 9am, fasting, etc etc). My TSH has increased from last medichecks blood test in February, while T4 has dropped

New to the group
I have been taking prednisolone for PMR for nearly 4 weeks and have my first review this week - I'm feeling fab since starting on pred - not taking any supplements yet - should I be asking about calcium and vitamin D at my review appointment?

Potential underactive thyroid
hi, I’ve had to go private for fertility investigations after loss and have had some more intensive thyroid testing done after the NHS advised no concerns. I’m hoping someone can give me some guidance based on my results as I’m quite lost with what to do/where to go next. TSH levels Oct 2019:

Wife passing from decompensated cirrhosis complications
My wife and I were moderate drinkers for many years. My wife, like many people, had a phobia of going to the doctors and had not had an annual check up for 26 years! She was incredibly healthy. Hardly ever had a sniffle and on no meds. I am a clinical pharmacist and am well aware of signs of liver

Test results
Morning, I got my test results from a private test. Can anyone advise if I need a levo increase? I generally feel well apart from hair loss which I've now read can be because my vitamin D is low. My ferritin has decreased after initially rising. No idea why as I'm eating pretty well.

14 Studies from the 1950s about T3-Only for All Sorts of Chronic Issues
These studies used T3 to benefit everything from mental issues, to gastrointestinal problems, to infertility, to poor performance in school. One study even used T3 with one-year-olds. Pretty remarkable results. I've included links for each study. - Tittle (1956). Effects of 3,5,3’ l-triiodothyronine
