Best in MN for 2nd opinion please!
Dr said only 4th round needed then
immunotherapy
for 9 mo. From what I've read on a different SCLC message board, this bugger usually comes back- much worse than the first time. We want to decrease the chances of that from happening so we want her to meet with the best in the area. TYIA!

Tel. Consultation.
She has suggested I can wait and have blood tests and scans,or zap it with carbo/taxol, or
immunotherapy
. The last thing I know nothing about. Anyway it was quite a long consultation, and very informative.

Coronavirus...advice for a family member
Also, does
immunotherapy
weaken the immune system like chemo? The advice from government kept mentioning chemo and radiotherapy, but not
immunotherapy
. Obviously she’s high risk regardless, but I was just curious. Thanks for your thoughts. Xx

Coronavirus - vulnerable group confirmation.
The Doctor was clear, according to the government "vulnerable" guidelines: MPNs are a blood cancer and Pegasys is
immunotherapy
. It's been a huge relief to get full clarity - as there are so many mixed messages out there for us.

This CAN'T be true! Can it? :(
The cancer is currently kept in check by the
immunotherapy
I'm undergoing (and which will continue, lockdown or no lockdown, although all my scans - MRI, CT and echocardiogram - and non-urgent appointments have been cancelled).

Medical update ibrutinib
The Dr told me the treatment if required is
immunotherapy
and is not nice so he has given me two weeks and an alternative antibiotic to temper bacterial infection also to again stop ibrutinib. I'm back after 2 weeks to repeat the tests and take it from there.

New kind of CRISPR technology to target RNA, including RNA viruses like coronavirus.
CRISPR-based genetic screens have helped scientists identify genes that are key players in sickle-cell anemia, cancer
immunotherapy
, lung cancer metastasis, and many other diseases. However, these genetic screens are limited in scope: They can only edit or target DNA.

Has anyone tried "Transfer Factor"
Sounds like it's a type of

that can work for some people: https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-1011/transfer-factor A preliminary report on the use of transfer factor for treating stage D3 hormone-unresponsive metastatic prostate cancer. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/
