Best in MN for 2nd opinion please!

Brand new here! We want a second opinion for SCLC stage 4 after chemo survival treatment options. Who's best in MN? Our mom doing really well with chemo. Dr said only 4th round needed then immunotherapy for 9 mo. From what I've read on a different SCLC message board, this bugger usually comes back- much worse than the first time. We want to decrease the chances of that from happening so we want her to meet with the best in the area. TYIA!

Was a Mayo Clinic where she had her treatment? If not I would go there. If yes, consider a trip to Madison, Wisconsin and the Carbone Cancer Center. Both have earned the Comprehensive Cancer Center designation from the National Cancer Care Network (NCCN). They have to meet a rigorous set of criteria to qualify. If there is any cutting edge clinical trial for SCLC either of them will be at the front line.

And thinking of front line treatment, immunotherapy was only approved last year for sclc. It has been the biggest game changer in treatment. While you are in the NCCN website you can look up standard treatment protocol. You can use theNCCN website for free but you may need to register.

Thanks! Mayo was NOT where we went. I figured it was the best, but I just moved up from Dallas.
