Continuing discussion of Adaptive Theory-- Why does early chemotherapy result in lower response rates to Lu-177 and immunotherapy??
In the CHECKMATE 650 trial (
Immunotherapy
), people that were chemo naive had a 25% response rate to Opdivo and Yervoy versus only a 10% response rate by those having previous chemo.

New York Times article on the recent Lutetium-177–PSMA-617 study [VISION] + NEJM paper
Standard-care therapies could not include cytotoxic chemotherapy, systemic radioisotopes (e.g., radium-223 [223Ra]),
immunotherapy
, or drugs that were investigational when the trial was designed (e.g., olaparib).

Positive Progress
Point 5: Make sure your Oncologist has run the tests to see if
immunotherapy
will work AND more importantly the tests to see if there are any mutations that targeted therapy with work on.

Father recently diagnosed with metastatic PC
My medical oncologist isn’t too supportive of
immunotherapy
because as per him they don’t work well in PC. But I might take a second opinion if others have benefitted from it. Or am I thinking too far ahead and should wait to see how ADT progresses? Also, does the ADT shrink the prostrate?

I'm going to start Taxotere, what are the experiences that you guys have had with it?
I'm just hoping this can get down to "not detectable", and The doc said he was going to send off my issues with medicine not working for study to get possible
immunotherapy
. I don't know much more than that. I can find out later. I'm not too worried about how I can handle this.

Immunotherapy alone extended life for metastatic lung cancer patients with KRAS mutation.
This survival difference by KRAS status was not seen, however, in patients treated with both chemotherapy and
immunotherapy
, suggesting combination therapy for patients without the mutation may be preferred.

Cll and skin cancer - An update and a warning.
My case will be discussed at the next MDT but it's unlikely surgery will be possible and treatment options could be limited to
immunotherapy
. I also have ulcerative colitis which seemed to worry the oncologist. My cancer is not curable and my future is extremely uncertain.

I know this is within normal levels, I still have 5 more cycles of

to go, and the chemo nurse wasn't concerned. But I am! Is this normal? When do I start to panic?! Thanks for any advice. Lesley
